not a good steel core
the blade chips on contact with anything harder than a banana. it has been sharpened on wet stones and the edge will only last a week of normal cooking (home cook) i chop on a wooden board.very disappointing. I've had the knife 6 months and have had to sharpen in every 2 weeks. ( i hone before every use)for the price £60 for a santoku i expect better
