A Necessity for Future PSCs
I've been assigning this text book since its first edition to all first semester school counseling students. This straightforward and concise approach to professional school counseling is unique in being not only theoretically sound but, unlike many other text books, refreshingly rich in its practicality. This well-sequenced and all-inclusive resource will greatly benefit future school counselors as well as the future of comprehensive school counseling programs. The updates to include the most recent edition of the ASCA National Model and ethical codes make this text more current than many other introduction texts in the field.

Fantastic Textbook!
I have been using this textbook for my school counseling courses for several years, and find it to be a centerpiece to preparing future school counselors. The textbook covers all areas of school counseling in an approachable and engaging manner. In my teaching evaluations, students commonly report to back regarding their appreciation for the book. I would highly recommend this text to anyone seeking to learn more about school counseling at any level- this book has you covered.

Hard to read but worth it
Good book but so many grammatical errors it was frustrating to read at times.

Must read for aspiring and practicing school counselors, counselor educators, and researchers
Introduction to School Counseling: Theory, Research, and Practice is a timely update from the previous edition, which I use as a guide in practice, research, and teaching. The latest version is updated to reflect the most recent ASCA National Model and research trends in school counseling. I appreciate the emphasis on social justice. I purchased this text as a resource for literature reviews/research design and a toolbox for current programs/interventions. It can be used beyond the classroom. Highly recommend!
