Wonderful.
Wonderful. What a wonderful woman Bernie was. I used to be a fan of the Nolan sisters- I even had their album of greatest hits with 'I'm In The Mood For Dancing', and 'Who's Gonna Rock You' etc. on. It's been nice to see the various sisters pop up on TV in recent years, eg. Coleen on Loose Women, This Morning and Dancing On Ice and Bernie in The Bill. I was very sad to hear about Bernie's fight with breast cancer a few years ago, also of her sisters Anne and Linda already having fought this dreadful disease. I decided to leave reading this book a few months after Bernie had passed away rather than reading straight away. I'm so glad Bernie decided to write this and what a remarkable job she did. It's very cleverly written-it feels like she's just sat there having a conversation with you, telling you about her life. It's so honest, she tells everything just like it was. This book is not all doom and gloom, it's a real celebration of all her life and tells of her early life, the beginnings of the sisters' singing career, where they've gigged and who they've met celebrity-wise over the years. So many achievements yet told with no boasting at all, just a genuine joy for life and love for all she's been able to achieve with her music and acting. The writing is so easy to read without any exhaustive descripions/scene setting etc, no unnecessary stuff. She just starts telling her life story and you just want to listen and read and read in one sitting. Bernie's husband Steve has written a final chapter to finish off her book and this is also very well done. The book includes numerous photos of Bernie and all her family. So glad I read this and it left me speechless when I had finished it. What a wonderful momento for Bernie to have left her family and everyone who reads this.

Heartbreaking story of courageous entertainer
This is a must read for all women, a real wake up call about the power of positive thinking. By the end you will need a box of tissues but you will be inspired by Bernie Nolan's courage in the face of adversity and of the powerful love shown by her husband, daughter and family. It's fascinating to read about a woman whose work ethic was legendary, even when sick the last thing on her mind was to stop working. This inspired me to book a mammography and to commit to regular checking. It also inspired me to download some of her music and interviews. Heartbreaking read, but worth it.

From a man cancer survivor twice.
What an amazing book that that I found very difficult to put down. Bernie was a real brave woman who refused to give up, she is an inspiration to us all. This book should be read by anyone who has cancer, and anyone who has a relative suffering this terrible disease. I have loved reading this book, cried a few times but what a wonderful, brave and devoted wife and mother she was.I had cancer nine years ago and had my prostate removed. However the cancer was diagnosed again a few months ago. Since then I have treatment including radiotherapy. During my treatment I ran a five mile charity run for cancer and raised about a thousand pound. Not bad result when I ran this race with cancer. I am due further blood tests in February.I will always remember this wonderful brave woman. God bless you Bernie and all your lovely [email protected]

Now and forever.
This book is so fast it leaves you breathless. It races through a childhood festooned with good and bad, tears and laughter, and disbelief. A career of singing with her sisters and solo racing around the British club scene, working clubs and television. Through teenage crushes, her sex life, failed romances, marriage and motherhood to illness, disease and finally death. It is a heart felt story that cannot fail to move you in some way or another. This isn't necessarily a sad story rather celebration of a full life. Bernie Nolan is a hugely lucky lady who has experienced a full diversity of living life to the absolute full. She fought cancer unsuccessfully, just as I am, knowing too that it is a battle I will ultimately lose. She has a story to tell that doesn't dwell too long on any one aspect of it. But slips easily from one area into the next seamlessly. This makes for an easy read that wants you to keep turning pages until you can find a suitable rest, however there is nowhere to rest so you just have to keep turning those pages. You won't regret buying this book for many reasons one of which is the feeling of hope you get all the way to the end and its nice that Bernie 's husband brings you right up to date.Bernie Nolan was taken too soon by cancer, just as many cancer patients are. I read this and found it gave me a little comfort, a few smiles and much hope.

A journey of courage and determination.
I started to read this book a week before Bernie Nolan came to the end of her journey. The book covered so much of her life and her family life too. It was fun, busy, hopeful and sad. However it proves how strong we can be.I found it hard to finish, as when I returned from Holiday I found Bernie's journey had ended. Today I finished the book instead of feeling sad, I felt this book gave a message to all of us. That continued strength and belief will enable one to focus and not lose but realise this is just another challenge that we will have to complete. Bernie"s continued positive attitude to life was uplifting.Another bright star is twinkling in the sky.

Loved it !
I must admit I have always liked the Nolan's and when I heard Bernie had written her autobiography I couldn't wait to read it. She pulls no punches and is honest and straightforward. What a wonderful husband and daughter she has who supported her wholeheartedly through her career and latterly her terrible illness. I did shed a few tears however towards the end, especially when her brave husband finished the book. I can thoroughly recommend this.

Heartwrenching
The first part of the book is by and large covered of in 'Survivors' by the Nolan sisters. The remainder is Bernie's story, her battle with cancer and her relationship with her husband and daughter [and other family members]. It's very emotional but also funny in parts, her sense of humour really shines through. Cancer is a terrible disease and she describes the pain both physical and otherwise very well. She really did have an amazing life. RIP Bernie..
