Great book, easy to read and follow the recipes
Great book, easy to read and follow the recipes. Good also for troubleshooting when you're not sure if your fermenting is going to plan as she gives lots of hints and tips. All the fermenting I have done using Donna's recipes have produced really good results. Makes culturing in your kitchen easy and fun

Great book, lots of useful, practical information and lovely recipes.

This is a book that combines science and creativity: you are first introduced to a lot of education on human microbes, scientific support on how fermented foods support health, and the importance of both probiotics and prebiotics; then, there is a myriad of recipes you can follow from basics to more creative ones. The book is filled with valuable information that opens my eyes to opportunities that fermented foods can bring me to improve the my health and the health of my family. What I love is that this book has a nice mix of science, anecdotal stories from Donna's readers, and her personal and family stories. From both scientific and experiential perspectives, they give me a more holistic view on the healing power behind fermented foods at different angles. I also like the tone of the book, which makes me feel that I was hearing Donna talking to myself as I was reading the book. Overall, it's a wise investment for your health!

Excellent book! The health info in the beginning of Donnas book is informative and I am grateful to learn all the things that can be helped by cultured food. We are absolutely loving the foods, the kombuchas, kefirs, cheeses, fermented veg, etc, etc. My kitchen's appearance has changed from all my culturing activity, to maintain our health, improve it, and prevent some of the real baddies. I encourage all my friends and acquaintances to get this book, learn from it, and get culturing right now! It's a good thing in our lives.

I found Donna, quite by accident on her website, and have just loved her direction and dedication in helping me (and I'm sure many others) with their health journey in making our "gut" our main focus to heal our bodies of whatever ailments we may suffer from. Her book is just excellent in everything you could possible want to know about how to get started. And the wonderful recipes, so you don't get bored. I really like how she explains in detail, just what kefir, kombucha, and cultured vegetables do and what benefits we get from each. As you can probably tell from my review, I'm a big fan. Give it a try. I'm still a newbie with only 4 months on her trilogy program, but she's convinced me because I have been feeling pretty great.

I am really loving this book. There is so much excellent information in here and it is really easy to understand and follow instructions for making these wonderful foods and beverages. I am so glad that the "universe" led me to Donna's books and website. Do yourself a favor and learn about the miracle, health producing foods!
