If you use Adobe Premiere Pro, you'll want this one on your shelf
I have been a long-time user of Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 and wanted to find the most exhaustive reference I could for using Adobe Premiere Pro. Most of the manuals and courses that I was finding were geared toward Adobe CC and I am a late adopter of the whole cloud / software as a service subscription model. This book is a whopping 1225 pages filled with advanced tips and tricks on using this non-linear editing system. I was originally trained on Final Cut Pro 6 and 7, so some of the functionality is rather similar. No matter if you are a beginner or advanced user, this book is one you will want to have.

Tremendous Resource For Editors
I rarely write these things but I wanted to thank the authors so much for creating this incredible resource. I'm a 20 year motion picture editors guild member working in broadcast TV exclusively on Avid and reading this book has finally made me comfortable enough to take jobs on Premiere. You also broke down many different aspects and terms about video editing in ways that I never fully understood before and for that I am eternally grateful.

What A Door Reference
Hi, I just received this book and love it. The only thing is I can't find any info on downloading the lesson materials. Does anyone know how to do this? I

Great reference book! Not for the absolute beginner; more for intermediate and above users.

The Video Editor's Encyclopedia
This book is a must-have for anyone looking to expand their video editing knowledge and edit faster. If you have a question, this book will solve it. It has 20 pages of index to make it easy for you to look up professional tips on any subject, from masks, to nesting, templates, compression, sound editing and more! You no longer need Google search, just use the book's index to find your answer. Not only does it offer advice on best workflows, but it answers the tough questions, such as "How low can you go?" for video compression, how to troubleshoot errors, how to remove noise from video and much more.It also breaks down, in common language, what effect parameters actually mean. I've always wondered what the Ultra Key effect's "pedestal" parameter did and now I know! (page 741 breaks down each Ultra Key parameter). It builds your knowledge giving you a greater understanding of how Premiere Pro was engineered for the professional editor.Since PremierePro is in constant development, Jarle notes that he will be posting updates to extend the life of the book at premierepro.net/updatesGet this book! this is the single best book on all the intricacies and functions of my ...
I've been editing Hollywood feature films for over 10 years with Adobe Premiere Pro. We used Premiere Pro to edit Dead Pool and Gone Girl.Cut to the chase...this is the single best book on all the intricacies and functions of my favorite editing software. It covers every aspect in a comprehensive manner and includes color images of all the components so you can actually see where it lives and what it does. At 1225 pages, it belongs on your bookshelf as a reference guide to grab when you have any question about how to do something in Premiere Pro. Instead of searching filmmaking forums for your answer...grab the book and get the right answer right away.Watch all the tutorials you want and take the online film editing classes...but make sure to have this book/pdf in your library. It's pure gold.

Incredible resource
This book is huge. I can already edit in Premiere Pro and took a training course a few years ago. The course was £1000. Now I normally learn new skills by Googling what I want to do and hoping to find the answer. But the process is hit and miss. This enormous book is fantastic for dipping in and out of. Just browsing throws up some great "I didn't know I could do that!" moments. The quality of printing is a bit disappointing and some screenshots don't show effects very clearly, but hell, this is more than 1220 pages of knowledge for £50. It's fantastic!DON'T BUY THE E-BOOK! If you buy the printed copy you get to buy the e-book for just £5 direct from the publisher - best of both worlds.

Excellent reference
This is an excellent, non-stuffy reference book. I think its really for people who know quite a bit about PP but if you do, it leads to more time saving methods. I wasn't able to download an ebook for £5 as mentioned in an earlier post. But I've managed well with the hard copy and it has an excellent contents page which signposts you to stuff. Would recommend to those with intermediate knowledge of PP

You think you know everything you need to know about Premiere?
You don't.It's not just a handbook, but a sometimes anecdotal and often practical, example-driven XXL-tutorial on how Premiere works and why it deserves better reputation. Believe it or not, it makes you love it because you start realizing you've been uisng it wrong all along. Even if you thought you're already a power user, like I did.If you're an editor, you probably have to get this book.

THE absolute best advanced Première guide.
Incredibly in-depth, practical, advanced book that will the your editing in Premiere from competent, through confident, and if you stick at it, to advanced. Loads of pictures, a to-the-point informal writing style, and clear, comprehensive chapters.
