It’s rare that someone should rave about a letterbox flap, but I’m very much minded to do that about this recent purchase.It is very well made: it’s true that the hinges look insubstantial but I have used products with similar ‘living hinges’ and they can be extremely durable and less prone to the problems that metal hinges can suffer from. As there is a generous 3 year guarantee with this i have no worries on that score. And frankly I have had several interior letter box flaps using brush draft excluders and hinged plates which have been a nightmare for people to post material through AND have broken because excessive force was required to post letters through.I particularly like that there is a sort of cushion between the frame of the flap and the door which makes the fitting really neat and also keeps out all drafts. There is a similar facing between the frame and flap itself which also reduces the sound of the flap’s closure.I was supplied on request with a really useful guide ramp which works a great in directing post through larger than standard door opening: this has been a problem for years as post can get snagged and spoiled if it catches against all the others devices I’ve tried.Very helpful and prompt customer service too.Really pleased with this.

I am so glad I saw this, we had such a draught coming in the letterbox and an ugly brass flap on it, this fits perfectly and so easily, I did it in 3 or 4 mins (took me longer to find the screwdriver) and I am a little lady (barely 5 ft)will be 73 next month , now no draughts, post gets through easily and it looks great and very neat and the 3 yr guarantee !... what’s not to like !... I love it !

Great product!Really easy to fit.It’s such a simple idea - a magnetic letterbox flap - but works perfectly.I had such a a draft coming in through my brush letterbox covering that it was always freezing my hallway, which affected the rest of the house as you can imagine.I’ve fitted this and felt the difference right away. Two weeks on and my heating needs to be on less as it’s not blowing a gale in my hallway!!My post comes through it easily.I’ve seen some reviews saying the plastic hinge will be or has been a problem. No problem with it here, it seems sturdy enough to me.When I emailed the company to ask a couple of questions they replied very quickly and even gave me a mobile number for ‘Nick the Inventor’ should I have any problems fitting it. I didn’t have any issues fitting it so didn’t need to phone Nick. But the personal touch was much appreciated.I highly recommend this magnetic letterbox flap!

Great product that does exactly what it's supposed to - keeps the draught out. Good design the only thing I didnt realise was the size if it. It's quiet long and my post box is a small sized one. Still happy with this product. Would recommend it.

I fitted this to the outside,just nipping up the screws, when i held the flap at a right angle to the door and released, the flap bounced open and remained open, I sent off to a co. which is known to be first for magnets, for 20 magnets 8mm dia.x2mm thick @ 1.6 kg pull ,adhesive on one side, I then stuck and taped 2 magnets above the aperture, and 2 below. (there is enough room to stick at least 10 magnets), The amount of effort required to open the flap was hardly affected at all, but the flap was held closed when released from a fully open position, the flap and the aperture surround are all made from a single piece of ABS plastic ,including the three hinges,these hinges do not inspire confidence, they appear as though they would not last longer than about 5 minutes, it looks extremely smart, at the front of the door it will be exposed to the elements, sunshine,rain,freezing temperatures,etc, so it will be interesting to see how long it survives, at the moment it is working excellently ,so I give it the thumbs up. time will tell.

Nice product that seems to deliver on what it intends. Fitted to an insulated steel front door and addressed a weakness by removing draft cold spot that undermined the point of having an insulated door. Not a criticism but as these will invariably be a retro-fit, installation might be helped by supplying either self-tapping screws and/or plastic plugs so any sensible DIY’er can drill pilot holes. A paper template to mark the fixing positions might be helpful instead of advice to use a bradawlAs a ‘one-time purchase’ the cost is about right - post lady likes it a lot better than the more common brush units.Nice to see a better ‘mouse trap’ approach to a problem

Was dubious at first as I had seen negative reviews but thought I’d give a try. Was easy to fit and works well as when I get mail the letterbox shuts quickly and keeps drafts out well. I used to have cold hallway and tried other things to reduce the draft but this was a blessing. Well worth the money and no sign of it breaking and I’ve had it a few months now

I bought one of these in March 2018 as the idea of a draught free letter box appealed very much. I did notice other people commenting on the plastic hinge but decided to give it a go. I was very pleased with it, it was easy to fit and the magnetic flap kept the hall free from cold air. Fifteen months later the plastic hinge has completely separated the flap from the bit that inserts into the door. The hinge is almost like a thinner piece of plastic moulded between the letterbox flap and insert and seems to be made as one piece. It could be a great product but let down by a very poorly designed part that seems on reflection almost guaranteed to fail.

There's a lot to like about this item: sleek design, easy to install and very effective at sealing off cold air from the mail slot. Unfortunately ours lasted for just under a year before the plastic hinge snapped off. I like it so much that I ordered another, but think they need to redesign the hinge mechanism to be more durable.

Durch den Briefschlitz in meiner Wohnung zog es erheblich, was durch die Lüftungsanlage des Hauses noch verstärkt wurde. Die gängigen Klappen aus dünnem Plastik, die von einer Feder gehalten werden, sehen billig aus, deshalb habe ich den Magflap ausprobiert.Bei der Bestellung muß man den Verkäufer anschreiben, um das weiße oder silberne Exemplar auszuwählen, weil es dafür auf der Seite kein Auswahlmenü gibt. Dann kam das Teil ("draught excluder" genannt, deutsch etwa: Zugluftvermeider) aus UK schon nach wenigen Tagen. Natürlich ist es auch aus Plastik - wie bereits aus der Bescheibuung ersichtlich - aber es macht einen wertigen Eindruck. Die Montage ist einfach und nun ist der Briefschlitz dicht. Ich hatte erst befürchtet, daß die Magneten die Klappe zu fest verschließen, aber das hat sich nicht bestätigt. Idee und Ausführung sind gut - sehr zu empfehlen!
