Shiroi Koibito is the perfect gift for someone when you want to get them something nice and consumable that isn't a typical holiday gift basket or box of chocolates. I loved having them in Japan, and being able to purchase them off Amazon is fantastic and convenient! The packaging is lovely and the amount is enough to last for them (unless they get overly eager and eat five pieces in one setting, which I can guiltily admit to doing as well).

Cookies were great! However, it had a 2 week expiration date.

Delicious crispy cookies

These “Shiroi Koibito” cookies are very tasty! They come in a pack of two (48 count total) in very giftable packages. Inside each package, the cookies are individually wrapped. They are look like a sandwich of two thin and crispy square langue de chat, with white or black chocolate cream in the middle. Once I opened the package, it was hard to stop eating. They deserve five stars for the taste! However, I took off one star since I could not find the ingredients list translated in English. There is a QR code on the package that links to the brand webpage, with an option to translate in English, but I did not find these cookies. Also, the price is quite expensive, maybe also due to the high-quality wrapping and presentation. Overall I am happy with the purchase and I would recommend these cookies to a friend!

I lived in Japan for a very long time and these cookies were extreme popular winter gifts (oseibo) at my office. I had them many times and these are identical to the gift boxed cookies that were passed around at my office. The langue to chat cookies are delicate, thin sugar cookies with a light flavor. The cookies add sweetness and texture. The chocolate filling is high quality with the chocolate being slightly bittersweet. The white chocolate is sweet and slightly softer than the bittersweet chocolate. The cookies are individually wrapped and very fresh.

I have had these once before (may not have been this grand) and found them to taste nice. These were also nice. I would personally say the chocolate ones tasted worse than the vanilla(?) ones, but both were still good. The boxes looked quite nice and were designed in a way perfect for giving as a gift.
