I have no way of knowing what this is or isn't pulling from the air aside from when an odor is removed or when it ramps up randomly and I have to just assume it's sensing something I'm not. It's not quiet but not super loud either, about on par with others I have. It suggests you leave it on auto 24/7 but I just turn it on when I'll be in that room for awhile and it seems like it makes a difference.

Requirement for any house

I love knowing that I have an airdoctor in my house. I have it in the hallway upstairs and another one downstairs on the first floor. It is pretty quiet until it senses a change and then you can hear the fan get louder as it works harder to filter the air. Example. Someone came over to my house and used a vap on the first floor and within 20 seconds the filter starting doing it's thing on the second floor. The only issue I have is that the filters are expensive to replace. But I've had mine running non stop now for about 5-6 months and still haven't got an alarm to replace it yet
