Sodium CMC Powder
Myoc Sodium CMC Powder. I’m new to soap making, but I’ve made a few successful batches. When I put this powder into the mixture it didn’t mix well, and I tried like 3 times using different ways of mixing it in. My husband came up with the idea to dissolve it first before adding it. But that didn’t work either. I’m not sure why it didn’t mix in.

good
Little bit goes a long way. Pretty good for soaps. Making hand and dish soap is pretty easy with the right ingredients and knowing what goes in makes me feel safer and more confident.

Challenging to dissolve initially, but effective with the right method
The Myoc Sodium CMC Powder was a bit difficult to dissolve at first, which was frustrating. However, once I discovered a technique—adding the CMC powder to a dry flask on a hotplate stirrer, fully wetting it with acetone, then adding water and stirring, and finally leaving it on heat to drive off the acetone—it became much more manageable. This method ensures the powder dissolves effectively, making it suitable for my applications. While the initial process was tricky, the end result is reliable once you know the right steps. I'm satisfied with its performance after mastering the technique.

Working fine in soap
This has been working fine in my soaps as a thickener. Seems a little pricey for cosmetic grade in this small amount, but it does the job.Label features a batch number, packing date & expiration date (of almost 2 years out). Since it’s not mentioned in the product details, I can confirm that this is made in India.
