TORRO Case Compatible with Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G – Premium Leather Wallet Case with Kickstand and Card Slots (Navy Blue)

After recovering from a nasty chest infection, I thought I'd treat myself to an upmarket phone cover. My old one, which had cost £20, was beginning to look a bit tatty after 12 months' hard use, and I wondered how much better a £30 cover might be, compared to the perfectly good, but more basic, one I'd had previously.The Torro item came within 24 hours. The packaging was fine, and robust, but lacked the unnecessary frills (tissue wrapping and fancy box) that had accompanied my previous cover. I found that encouraging as my money was clearly going on the product, rather than poncey packaging.The Torro cover (for a Galaxy S23 Ultra, in my case) is beautifully made and crafted from genuine leather, rather than the faux leather more commonly encountered. The red stitching is well executed and looks classy.Previous phone covers I've had often become bent at the top corner as there's not much room around the camera lenses. The Torro product cleverly resolves this by deliberately not having the leather extending to the corner. Instead the rubberised protection covers that area. Indeed, the rubberised protection is very robust and gives the phone ample protection should it be dropped onto a hard surface. The slight downside is that this makes the cover about 1mm thicker than most competitor products - a price well worth paying, in my view.What I like most about the Torro cover is also what will make it unsuitable for some users. Rather than a traditional magnetic buckle (which tends to catch, annoyingly, on other things when I pull out the phone from my trouser pocket), Torro uses a simple magnetic clip making for a much flatter and smoother cover. I think that's great, but it means the cover won't stay firmly closed if the credit card slots are used.So, if you don't mind paying another £10 for a premium, well-finished, product; and if you don't use the credit card slots, this is absolutely a five-star product. But if you use the credit card slots this won't be the cover for you. However, at least for me, the Torro product is perfect.PS. Having now had the Torro cover for three months, during which time, in my experience, other competitor covers have started to look a bit second hand, I'm delighted to say the Torro product still looks as good as new. If there were a facility to award it another star, I'd gladly do so. It's so pleasing to enjoy a properly durable high quality product, when so many other items are made with only superficial quality, and don't last very long. If I ever need another phone cover, I'll go straight to Torro.

This is a big case, but the phone fits snugly into it and then is surrounded with great protection. In fact, as long as the cover is closed when you drop it, I'm pretty sure that it would bounce. The case is exceptionally well made and really reeks of quality and the cover closes with a strong magnetic catch, but unlike other cases the catch doesn't seem to affect the phone, not even the working of the stylus. The only reservation that I have is that this is the first case of this type that I've had and I find it quite difficult to hold when I use the phone, the cover doesn't want to bend back behind the phone as on cheaper covers, so I've added a wrist strap and fitting, which really makes it a lot easier to grip when in use, but as this phone really fills my jeans pocket and is heavy I'm seriously considering a belt holster to keep this phone and case in. Highly recommended - the S23 is an expensive phone, and this case should keep it spotless and outlast the phone!

Fantastic product, excellent workmanship, no complaints

As others have noted, this phone cover, while beautifully made, does bulk out your phone considerably. It's more suited to larger hands. A bigger issue is the vulnerability of that lovely cluster of expensive camera lenses. Despite the lenses being well recessed, your fingers will invariably find them when you are taking the phone from a bag or pocket and they require frequent cleaning. Also, if you casually put your phone in your pocket or bag with coins or car keys the potential for scratching the lenses is fairly significant. I'm not sure what the answer is other than be careful! Maybe some sort of sliding or flip cover for the lenses would do it.

This is very well made and the best fit for my phone, have tried others but don't beat this one, pay that bit extra and you get the best 👍

This is a quality product. It looks and feels, and even smells like a quality case for my mobile. I have no hesitation in recommending Torrro and I'm sure it will outlast a non leather case.

I highly recommend this product for its excellent quality. I have been using it as my wallet 24/7, and it also offers 360-degree phone protection when placed on my cheap wireless 3-in-1 charging case.Initially, I purchased the Torro case because I couldn't find a Tech21 wallet for my new S23 Ultra. However, it is now apparent that the Geordies (Torro brand owners from Newcastle, UK) produce better wallets than all of my previous Tech21 wallets in terms of everyday function and phone protection. I have already dropped my phone twice from a height of about 1-1.2 meters, and the Torro case has protected it well.One might argue that the Tech21 technology could protect my phone from drops from far higher heights. As a user of a phone wallet case for 9 years now, the bigger issue I have faced has been that after a month or two, the wallet closing mechanism of my Tech21 wallet case stops working, causing the screen cover to lose its ability to stay in place and protect my phone screen. I admit the issue was caused by me, adding more than I should in the wallet, but then...who wouldn't do that?Torro's ingenious yet simple way of providing a closing mechanism allows more freedom in that important aspect. In 9 years, I never had an incident of dropping my phone from a height higher than my hands or pockets (1-1.6m). At the end of the day, if that rare incident happens and assuming Torro won't work, I could always activate my accidental damage home contents insurance.
