Really soft rubber conforms quite well to your face. No leakage at all. If in doubt order the medium.

You may be expecting to get something that, out of the box, you can put to use. Don't do it. Don't order this thing! I'm not sure if it was the storage of this thing before they sold it or the rubber from which it's made but the smell of the mask itself will make you throw it out. I didn't notice that this seller refused returns so take my advice and don't waste $258 like I did.

I saw a lot of marketing for this mask and this company, mostly from Youtube creators in the prepping and personal protection spaces. Their marketing efforts have been very influential, and if you go ask on some prepper forum which gas mask you should buy, Mira Safety is a common recommendation. But is it a good recommendation?I think the marketing around this mask has been a little misleading by omission, maybe not intentionally but as a result of the general public's lack of knowledge on gas masks. To be fair, Mira's claims are pretty much all true: this is a tactical gas mask designed for military use, and actually fielded by the army of the Czech Republic. It certainly does seal well, the drink system works, the FOV is as advertised and with the right filter and proper fit it can save your life, without a doubt. I can even get a decent cheek weld with an AR15 and see my red dot (and even irons!) with this mask on. If you're a lefty you can swap a plug and run your standard NATO 40mm filter on the other side. It's newly manufactured and not a surplus unit, the rubber on mine appears to have been made in 2020 and the strap/adjustment assembly is marked 2022.The background info that doesn't get mentioned is that Mira doesn't design and manufacture masks, they import and resell them. Also, this design is not what you'd call cutting edge. This Mira "CM-7M" is better known as the OM-90, which has been manufactured since 1990 by Gumárny Zubrí Inc in the Czech Republic. Surplus OM-90 masks are available for competitive prices, because they have been made and stockpiled for 30+ years. Obviously surplus units will be older and have a shorter usable life (or possibly already be compromised by poor storage), so the higher cost for a new mask is perfectly fair. But considering that there are NIOSH-certified respirators with more modern designs from big, trusted, US-based safety gear companies in this price range, you have to really consider if this 30+ year old design imported from Eastern Europe is getting you the most for your dollar.So, it's like this: the quality is good, the mask is trustworthy. I'll take this over something cheap from a no-name company any day. It does what it says it does, and I'm happy to have it. But my research into this product category makes me doubt that this is the most competitive offering on the market. Just spend a little time reading up on respirators before you decide how to spend your cash.

I could tell right away it’s of quality material. Medium fits perfectly and makes a good seal. Straps are comfortable and sufficient, tried jogging with it with no issues. This one’s for keeps

mira is a middleman in the wrong way as they over charge for a low cost basic mask that is missing all the good stuff the actual OM-90 comes with that is from the same manufacturer re dubbed CM-7M its also not comfortable around the eyes like a Soviet gp-5 is on the positive side it works is available and takes common good quality filters
