TLDR: Best bandage to have for emergencies.If you are worried about the "BLACK PACKAGES" - these are genuine PerSys. I have emailed the manufacturer and confirmed. The images on Amazon are outdated.Why 4 stars:I have ordered "many", and about 20% arrived with outer (black) package having punctured seal. that being said, the actual bandage inside is sealed proper and should still be sterile, ready for use.I am not sure if these were damaged while shipped or were "like that" when packaged for delivery.Long:I've ordered "more than one" package and out or the lot a few seemed to have a punctured outer container.The bandage, however, has secondary package by design. That seal is intact on all outer-damaged items and seems sterile.After reading a number of comments and reviews about this being a "black" package, I was concerned as well and contacted the manufacturer (PerSys) to ask. I have sent them pictures of the packages and link to the Amazon (this product). They were able to confirm that this is indeed a legitimate item from proper lot, purchased by the Amazon seller, with the images on this product being outdated. The "gray" package is pre-2015 and pre-2019. After these years the package went through at least one redesign, I was told.If you want to check your purchase - take a look at my photos for comparison:- On the bottom of the package there is a "Distributed by PerSys"- as well as a sticker with a Ref and Lot (as well as an expiration date).I would also recommend opening one out of the package to check what is inside just to be safe.

I’m familiar with many different brands of Israeli type bandages, and these are the best I’ve seen. The packaging is so compact I find these six inch bandages use up the same space in my aid kit as most of the four inch sizes on the market. That is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the design work by this vendor. You can really tell this is an actual battlefield product, not a knock-off. Expiration date is out six years, also best I’ve seen on the market. Can’t say enough praise for this product, very highly recommended.

My neighbor accidentally stabbed himself in his calf, had arterial bleeding, I was able to apply the bandage, it did an excellent job of stopping the bleeding while we transported him to the hospital. It was a significant wound (deep), bandage worked perfectly.Make sure you learn how to properly apply the bandage. There are several videos out there to teach you how to do it properly.

Buy a spare to practice with and that way if you ever need to use it you can do so with less issues than going in blind. Also these have two layers of packaging. Familiarize yourself with it BEFORE needing one in an emergency. Good product.
