NYSORA Nerve Block Manual: First Edition First Edition

As a PGY-4 anesthesiology resident, NYSORA has always been my primary resource for everything related to regional anesthesia. Their website has also always served as a quick, convenient reference. While I do love the accessibility of the digital platforms that NYSORA offers on desktop and mobile, it is really wonderful to have this beautiful book that's complete with high resolution, printed photographs. This manual is big enough to display large images and illustrations, but also lightweight enough that it's easy to transport and be a convenient reference in the hospital.They have done a wonderful job striking a balance between brevity and completeness with presentation of information. Anatomical considerations, transducer positioning, indications, local anesthetic choice, and anesthetic volume are included throughout the book, but not in an overwhelming manner. As one might expect from NYSORA, the contents of this manual are thorough and include common as well as more niche blocks. Upper extremity, lower extremity, truncal, and head and neck blocks make up the content of this book.It's worth emphasizing that this is a beautifully printed book. The black page color is not only aesthetically pleasing, but makes it easy to appreciate the anatomical photos and thoughtful illustrations that accompany each block description. This is an especially excellent resource for anyone who learns well by looking at a physical textbook.Overall, I strongly recommend this manual for anyone who performs any type of regional anesthesia. It's not only great for learning, but excellent reference material even for those with experience. Very well done.

The NYSORA nerve block manual written by the renowned Admir Hadzic MD, Ph.D. is one of a kind medical textbook as this manual consists of the utmost practical instructions which I find very useful and attractive. The manual provides a concise overview of well-established ultrasound-guided techniques of the head and neck, upper and lower extremities, and trunk without burdening me with a plethora of literature. Each chapter of this manual encloses an easy-to-understand and reproducible description of the anatomy, block distribution, technique, and local anesthetic choice allowing me to learn the basics of regional anesthesia in a quick yet thoughtful way. Moreover, the manual is published as a piece of art including renowned reverse ultrasound anatomy images thereby helping me understand the ultrasound images. As the manual is the utmost practical textbook, you’d wish that all your medical textbooks were this practical and eminently applicable in clinical practice!

As a die-hard NYSORA follower (for probably 5 or 6 years now), I purchased the NYSORA Manual knowing it was going to be a reliable reference. This guide actually went above and beyond my expectations. It's quite literally FULL of pictures that describe every single step of the blocks. The techniques are described in a way that makes this a textbook that you can ACTUALLY use.And on top of that, it's a masterpiece visually. I'd go as far as to say that this book is set to become the centerpiece of my collection. I'll definitely be buying the hardcover copy too.

As a Gen X-er, I love turning pages. As a neurodivergent, I love detailed illustrations and concepts in order to make the lesson stick. This manual does it all for me and was an instant must-have for my textbook collection.

Great resource book, incredible pictures.

This is an excellent book and the price payed shows it. However it is terrible from Amazon to ship it without proper packaging, given this is not a hard cover book. The book arrived with bends in the corners. Paying $200 for this book to arrive in this condition is unsatisfactory. Disappointing Amazon experience. I have two stars because of the book content, otherwise would have given 1 star.
