LEGO 11015 Classic Around the World Building Bricks Set & 11013 Classic Creative Transparent Bricks Building Set with Animal Figures including Lion and Turtle Toys

Judging by the photos and reading that there were over 900 pieces of lego included in this kit, I thought it would be a good bargain. But me and the kids were disappointed when the lego kit arrived because most of the lego pieces were of the small single dot size. We expected there to be a nice mix of sizes for the kids to build up their lego collection for free-building and creative play. If you want bigger sized pieces of lego (6 or 8 dot sized pieces for example) for the kids to add to their lego collection then dont go for this kit as you will be disappointed.

Having used 'Blockos' and whatever other bigger Lego alternatives, we decided our 4 year old was trustworthy enough for her first 'proper' Lego set.Although there is a theme to the different packages e.g. a Lion and meat set, or a traditional Oriental building, you can pretty much create anything your imagination can come up with using all the blocks here, but following the instructions (at least once) is a good idea, to familiarize your child with building to a plan at least. There are many blocks of varying sizes and as anyone's foot can attest, Lego is as solid as ever.Loses 1 star as, although inflation is no doubt driving the prices up, I still think £50 odd for a Lego set is rather expensive.

Good packaging, great timing and always fun

Lots of extra pieces and the little figures you can make up are really sweet and my son loves making them. I did buy this when it was on offer so even more pleased!

You can’t really go wrong with LegoUnless you step on a brick in bare feet!This set has hundreds of pieces and the toddlers spend ages constructing wacky shapes as well as buildings etcBasically it’s like the original real world mine craftThe 5yr old combines this with his dinos and cars to create fantastical stories
