Not Tom’s best one
We LOVE the dinosaur that pooped series but this one fell flat. One small humorous reference after stating the ooo came out his butt, and that was it. Normally there’s several sentences/rhymes that make us chuckle, but only one included. I feel like maybe the budget wasn’t as big because the flaps were included so maybe the story was made shorter. It could have had more is all.

My first foray into this series
Firstly, this is a very colourful and nicely illustrated book that is obviously part of a series of books concerning a particular dinosaur and his necessities. The book is well constructed and is going to last and take some punishment even from little fingers. I like the flaps and the rhymes. These always add extra dimensions to the story and hopefully the enjoyment and entertainment.Having said that it was not really for me. I guess as a musician Tom may be asked what his influences are and I guess the same may be said about this book. Whilst it is clearly original it does appear to meld a few different, well used threads or influences into the fabric of the story. However, it is not for me to judge and my great nephew howled with laughter while I read this to him.For me there are other books I would rather read and I may resort to that naughty adult trick of taking the fifth when I am asked where it is. It is not in the same league as for example The Tickle Monster. My children loved that one. We read it almost every night and I was happy to do so. I guess it is just a matter of personal taste. Granny could not abide Little Grey Rabbit and my mother was not keen on Thomas the tank engine. I guess in the end it is the audience that matters. We read these books for the children in our lives and it is what they want that is important.I guess the rest is for you to decide. I will take a deep breath and say 'of course' when asked to read it (because I try not to be a naughty adult). It is obviously, exactly what the audience where looking for and as such it seems churlish not to recommend it.

Kid fully engaged with it
Trying to get kid to read more. Also a huge dino fan. We have a lot of the books from this range already so knew what to expect. Kid dove right in to reading it. The illustrations and added flaps make it more fun for them to read. They're cute looking books. I was a mcfly fan back in the day, so it's cute that there's that link too.To be honest, the story is ...basic and feels a bit forced. But what kids book doesn't. Kid did not notice this. Loved the fact that it all ends in Poop (what is with that and kids) so overall a win! This was 4 quid at the time. Half price offer from 7.99. 4 is a bargain. But clearly promotional. 7.99 is pretty standard for this size/style of book. Can't complain
