High Quality, No Difficulty Installing
Mounted on a Cub Cadet ZTXS5. I recommend buying the suspension with the slider rather then trying to use the Cub Cadet slider that came with the mower. The ZTXS mowers come in 3 models: The 4, 5, and 6. The 6 has a Cub Cadet suspension, The 4 & 5 do not. Instead, Cub Cadet uses two spacer rails under the slider to keep seat height about equal between the models. This suspension does raise the height of the seat, but, removing the spacers keeps the height increase to about 2.5"-3" when seated.I am 76yrs old with both a full hip and full shoulder replacement in the last 8 months and I had no real issue installing this unit by myself. (I do have 50yr experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.) All the existing bolt holes worked with no drilling. Probably the same for other Cub Cadet models. My suggestion for mounting: First, mount the slide rails to the bottom of the suspension. The rail with the handle goes on the operator's right with the handle facing up. Then mount the suspension and rails to the mower's mounting plate. Next, mount the upper plate to the seat bottom. I used the original Cub Cadet bolts and spacers. Make sure the plate is facing in the proper direction. There are two openings in the plate flanges, a large one and a small one. The small one goes to the front. This is where the adjusting shaft comes through. Then mount the seat and plate on the suspension. That's pretty much it, except running the wires for the seat switch. I brought them out the front and then back in next to the adjusting knob. There are 5 wires in the one cable, so the 2 wire extension provided is useless. I may yet re-route my cable.I haven't mowed yet, but, even sitting in my garage with the suspension adjusted to my weight, the difference was amazing. The only conflict I have experienced is that the front of the seat cushion rubs against the adjusting knob and makes adjusting a bit inconvenient. I don't expect to be changing the adjustment though once set.I could have just ordered the suspension that Cub Cadet puts on the 6, but, I doubt that the price would have been anywhere close to this suspension. This unit is very well constructed. If you have a helper then fully assembling the seat and suspension to each other before installing on the mower may work for you. For me, it was easier to install in two pieces.

Was a pain to get installed and had no instructions, but it's worth it!
This thing came with absolutely no instructions in my box for some reason and it was nine kinds of you know what to try to get it figured out… I got delivered while I was working. I rushed home to get the sucker put on and it took me all afternoon trying to figure out this thing. Finally got it all mounted up and ran into the issue with the seat safety switch, but I figured that out pretty quickly. I just popped the wire harness out of the fasteners on the frame and it gave me more length and plugged right in. I'm gonna mow with it for the first time tomorrow. Just bought my Cub Cadet ZT1 50fab last week. I hope it's as comfortable mowing as it is just sitting on it lol

Worked so well had to put on my dads lawnmower!!
So my son started a lawn mowing job this summer he is 15. So I picked this up to help with the bad lawns. It works great so great my dad wanted one on his lawnmower. The cost is way cheaper then the ones at the dealer.

Not for Toro 50" ZTR
After 5 hours I made it work. NO instructions. Had to drill 8 holes, 4 for the seat assy to device, 4 for the slide rails. Hindsight says the rails should be mounted to the Suspension device first, and drill through the rails into the seat platform to get a better alignment. The extension for the safety switch had to have all connectors modified. The original connector to the safety switch has an integrated interlock that must be disabled with a thin piece of plastic or you will spend a couple of hours trying to figure out why the mower dies when taking it out of park. Hindsight says I should have cut the wires and spliced in the extension. The drive handles cannot be extended, so they are very close to the legs now. Not yet sure how 2 hours on the seat will feel.

One of my best purchases.
I bought this in 2023 for my Badboy Elite. I had looked into a OEM suspension seat and it was over $700. I’m in my 60s and mow two acres once a week, sometimes more often in the summer and although my mower has some suspension it was still hard on my back. I installed it myself in about 40 minutes including reconnecting the seat safety pressure switch. This product does add height to the seat but was not an issue. The difference in the ride and back fatigue is night and day, one of the best purchases I’ve made. I am now on my 3rd season with it and I couldn’t be happier with the function and quality of it. I highly recommend this product to anyone who mows average and often.
