Great steel for a great price.
Came annealed so it was easy to work with. Hardened good. I used it to make a replacement blade for my Spyderco knife.

Solid product. Good stuff
Good stuff. Came straight and flat. I annealed them before cutting.

Pretty Good Metal
Price is good. Shipped flat and rust free. Definitely hardened though. Needed annealing.

Good size for a small blacksmith shop
These came in nice and flat, well oiled to prevent rusting, and proper dimensions. The only downside I found with theses is my lack of skills.

Not Annealed at all.
On the bright side this is indeed cheap 1095, however It seems to be Normalized or even in a slightly hardened, I tried cutting it with an M42 extremely hard 8% Cobalt bandsaw blade and it failed miserably. Then I tried to drill a hole in it with a 70 Rockwell hardness drill bit and it hardly even scratched the stuff. I don't know what they are doing but they must be normalizing it and getting an extreme enough air quench to slightly Harden this stuff, nobody the smallest attempt to soften the steel, I even waited an entire week for a new bandsaw blade just to make sure. This stuff is hard enough that I actually successfully tempered it and made it a little bit softer just by heating it up with a grinder. I bought this stuff under the impression it was soft enough to cut with an extremely hard band saw blade, fortunately for me I'm just going to anneal it because I have a even heat oven, but boy would I be ticked right now if I had to get a hole in this stuff without the ability to anneal it myself. Heed my warning if you're one of those guys looking to make a knife using a file this stuff is seriously over to 50 Rockwell hardness, I is actually more difficult to drill than AR500, my bit will actually drill AR500 with effortand is for SS plate. Again this is not a real problem for me I'm probably going to buy more, because I can anneal it myself but I'm pretty upset about waiting for a bandsaw blade that didn't even work.

Just as good as Advertised
Great steel so far. I’m making a knife and it is easy and soft to work with. Minimal warping or none, and it feels legit. Packaging broke because of the weight but no big deal nothing was damaged it is steel after all. You get what is advertised!!

Pretty Good
I've been making knives off and on for 10 years. I'm no professional, but definitely not an amateur. Since the cost of everything has doubled lately I thought I'd try some Amazon steel. Well, this "1095" made a good knife that will hold an edge. I butchered 15 chickens today and didn't need to sharpen. My wife's German made knives needed to be sharpened 3 times doing the same task. I'm not saying it's not 1095 but my eyebrows raised when I went to blue the blade. Very inconsistent. Then after I cleaned that mess up I went to acid etch it in ferric chloride and it was super splotchy. No 1095 I've got from Jantz ever did that. Always a solid uniform black coat. With that said, it made a good sharp knife that holds an edge. That's what I care about.
