Best quality
I could have bought a bread knife for £7, but I'm so fed up with this throwaway culture I've been paying more for better quality things lately (I specifically wanted plastic free and not made in China) , and this bread knife is a real treat for the eyes and the hand. It goes through my handmade rye sourdough bread (which has a crust like a brick) like warm butter. No more sawing and huffing and puffing. I think I'll be able to sharpen this myself as well, unlike my old bread knife which had teeth! The whole knife is much lighter than I expected considering it has an oak handle and a full length tang, and the rivets seem solidly fastened in. I also appreciate the fact that it has a good long blade for those round loaves. This has been added to my collection of knives (some of which we've had for decades and all have wooden handles and brass rivets!) and I love it.

Great little 8cm fruit and veg knife
This is a lovely little 8cm (3.5 inch) blade knife made in Sheffield with an oak handle (not everything in the Taylor's Eye Witness shop is Made in Britain (which they openly admit), but this Heritage line is home produced. Very sharp (be warned), but lovely for dealing with fruit as a dessert or with smaller veg efficiently. Be aware the handle should not be soaked in water, so must be hand washed. A pleasure to own

Good for slicing bread, well made in England
Despite reading someones review, about how it was dangerous, as they had cut themselves. I went ahead and purchased, gave strict HSE instructions to wife. She still managed to cut herself. I told her son when he visited about the incident, when I came back he had a plaster on his finger. Seriously though its well made and does the job. Just pay attention and keep your fingers out of the way.

Perfect for cutting thick crust sourdough bread
This bread knife is perfect for the thick crusts on my homemade sourdough bread. Not only is the serrated blade as sharp as a razor, but it is exactly the right length. To explain - I use a bamboo loaf cutting guide and although my previous bread knife was only 1 inch shorter - I couldn't slice a loaf properly. With this Taylor's Eye Witness bread knife it cuts easily. The wooden handle with brass rivets is a joy to use and it looks very professional. Don't put it in the dishwasher, hand wash it and protect the wooden handle with a little cooking oil - it should last for tens of years. Sheffield steel is the best in the world anyway.

It's not a knife but a fork
My order of the 15cm knife arrived in good time, but I was disappointed to find that it is actually a 15cm carving fork. It seems well made and the tines were sharp, but I had expected it to be knife. So I returned it.
