I bought this radio as was looking for a license-free radio, it's really good for the price, and it goes up to 3 miles in communication depending on buildings and signal output/receive; I brought to, them I gave them to my mum and the so her and the little one can talk and i brought another two as I got asked by the little one. But I've restricted the channels. Good radios for price, as I listen to my music and sometimes don't hear my mum shouting.Read the following features below what my knowledge is so far:Panic alarm:The panic alarm is good, but when on broadcast alarm it should only be pressed in emergencies only, if testing put a message out that's its only a test, the local alarm is good for when your out to alert those around you. The panic alarm can be turned off if you are going to give this to a 8+ year old. And you can restrict this to a channel and DCS/CTC code, and you can lock it to prevent any incidentsFlashlight:The flashlight has a standard one (still) and a flashing one (strobe) the strobe flashlight is to indicate for help when needed when in a team etc.Dw duel watch:whiching between two channels, one for team communication and one for private calls.Call tones:10 call tones, good to get different tones for different radios so you know who wants to talk, and it will call those on the channel, if where one is restricted to a certain channel it won't hear the conversation or call tone:Weather resistance:It does have some weather resistent but its unknown what IP** rating it has at this point, my knowledge and guess would be IP65 resistant, 6 star resistance from dust, and 5 star from rainfall, which is equivalent to normal rain fall, but if it breaks, then the second digit wil go down, but from this point the radios maybe IP65 resistant if the hear peace port of covered, (test it at your own risk though), I have tested it in the light rain and near to heavy and it with hold and still works. Sadly the NOAA weather band doesn't work.Scan channels:Scan channel to see the better one to communicate on within a team or for home communication for family and team work etc.Battery life:The battery lasts 12+ hours depending on the use throughout the day and how old the battery is. Fully charged within 3/4hours depending on battery usage output power is 3.7v which comes under licence free, anywhere over 5.0v with over the 16 channels then lisance may be required.Can this pick up other operators: “yes” depending on the Channel and DCS/CTC code you use. Put a message out on the channel your using to see if its free to use, be aware that licenced amateur radio operators will be able to pick up the frequency; to avoid use the CTC/DCS codes.Regulations and rules in public:This radio is apart of the PMR446 frequency band which is good as the is no fees to communicate, as regulations was brought out and now the is up to 16 channels where they are licenced free.Rules:If for personal use, and family communication you can use them in public, but restrictions may apply in buildings such as shops, Venus and more, but check and see if they have any rules for use within those buildings.Work purposes:Can be used for work purposes with no fees or registration of use has they operate on the PMR446 frequency band, good for gardeners or solo team builders etc.Apart from all of the amazing features that this has, I'm very happy with this radio; good for money worth for beginners and anyone who doesn't want to spend money on getting a licenses etc. Its also good to communicate to your next-door neighbour or anyone who you talk to within a 3-mile radius, keep in mind signal may be weak as it has to travel through walls etc. But I would recommend on getting this radio.

I am super happy with these radios, I was a little worried at first thinking they wouldn’t be good for what I need them for but I tell you now I was completely wrong. These are honestly the best radios I have seen for such an easy price, the distance is what it says if not more and the battery life is better! I haven’t had to charge them since use because of how good it is. They have private channels which aren’t that hard to setup too. Would 100% recomend!

They look the part. Work ok from a base building to approximately 1.6 km away. It would drop out fairly frequently at that range but that may have been the trees/building. Only gripe I had is that they were missing one of the belt clips which I could have done with. For basic use I would recommend.

For the price I found these excellent. Good clear reception and easy to operate. Also robust construction not at all flimsy and the battery life is good. So far no complaints

I’m very pleased with these radios. For what I needed them for the distance is fine. Line of sight max I got was about 1.5 miles but I only needed half that. Charge lasts about 3 days ish. I ve had the occasional taxi company coming through which is quite entertaining.The key lock function is very useful to prevent inadvertently changing channels or disturbing other functions when taking in and out of your pocket.

Got a range of about a mile. Haven't been able to try further yet. Not used all the functions either but as usual, Baofeng are hard to beat when it comes to value for money.

Product well designed, good functions and good accessories but the range is quite limited, less than described.

These seemed like quite good radios with every facility you might need, but unfortunately one of the units only functioned intermittently. Indeed this unit was not set at the factory default out of the box, leading me to believe that it might have been either faulty at manufacture or an already returned unit. Immediately sent back to Amazon and a full refund received allowing the purchase of another brand.
