Great Alternative to Paper and Metal Straws
I was interested in these straws the moment I read the description - straws made of coconut leaves that are compostable??? Having been a user of metal straws to avoid more plastic waste (and hating paper straws because they fall apart so easily - have you ever tried using a paper straw in your morning smoothie??), I was intrigued by the idea of a compostable, sturdy straw that, while disposable, could be reused more than once.I mean, that sounds like a unicorn straw, don't you think? :)Anyway, I got these and immediately tried one - poured a glass of ginger ale (with ice), and started sipping. My first thought was that the straw was flavorless - it didn't carry any kind of "coconut taste" (and, thank goodness, didn't taste like paper!); then, as I continued to sip, I was tickled to realize that the straw stayed STURDY. No dissolving/collapsing when touched by water!I finished my drink and pulled the straw out - the bottom tip was darker, but all in all, it was very much intact. I decided to test it - I washed it out gently using my straw cleaner, and laid it aside to dry. This morning, I got up and made my morning smoothie; popped the straw in and started sipping - it was as though the straw hadn't been used before! No issues with it collapsing under the "weight" of the smoothie, just an easy sip all the way!I really really like these straws! While you're not going to get the same usage out of one as you would a metal straw, you'll still get some great sips in!

Awesome Natural alternative
These are perfect for a functional "garnish" in tiki drinks or other cocktails. They hold up indefinitely (even soaking overnight) and do not impart any noticeable taste. Sturdy enough to stir with as well.As other reviews mentioned, yes there are occasional fibers sticking out but I have yet to have one actually get in my mouth. They are only on the outside from what I've seen and can be easily removed if it bothers you (which it shouldnt.... its a natural product, not a big deal).Whether its the looks or the function you're interested in, would definitely recommend these.

These are fantastic and flavorless.
These are sturdy don't break down or collapse like paper. They even have a pointy end to push them through the tops of the drink containers. Even my wife loves them and she is NOT easy to please ;-) Fantastic product and I think they're a great value.

Interesting alternative to plastic
They work for what they are intended to do, getting liquid from the glass/cup to your mouth. I did notice after a minute or so air bubbles will start being pulled in from the seal running up the straw. I 'm not sure if this is from either the coconut leaf slowly unfurling after getting hydrated or from gaps in the glue holding the leaf together. They are definitely not reusable, but I think that they are an ok alternative for one time uses.

Good
These straws are great to use instead of plastic. of course they are not so neat and comfortable as plastic but they definitely doesn't harm health. I want to avoid plastic and encourage this kind of products. These straws are sturdy enough. Actually they are working great. I highly recommend them.

Natural straw given the Superbowl Test
The Dtocs Bamboo straw were our straws of choice for the Superbowl this year. The problem with most natural straws is they usually start to loose their shape and go limp after only a couple of hours. For this reason, I decided to give it a try and see if they can stay together for the big game.To my surprise, not only did it last the game, it lasted through the overtime and past the cleanup without unraveling or taking that soggy dip that most do. No limp straws here. Now, as much as that's great, the pricetag that goes along with it might not be as appealing. It's double the cost I can get 100 paper straws for, granted, I'd be needing twice as much as the quality isn't the same. So, I'll leave that for you to decide because bottom line will come to cost at at almost $20 for 100, it's a bit of a luxury. With that said, perhaps for a special event, they are a good choice, or pick them up if on sale. They do hold up well.My rec

No more paper straws!!
I'll admit it- I HATE paper straws. They get soggy so fast and they taste like paper. BUT I get it- I want to do the right thing and do good for the environment so I will suck it up and use them.... Until now. These straws are so much better. They don't go soft in the drink, they don't add a weird flavor to your beverage and if you are a fidgeter - they have a nice texture. All this and I can feel good about them because they are sustainable and compostable. A game changer for being a responsible person without compromising quality.
