I bought this for kayak fishing, so expect I'll need to be careful not to get too much salt water on it as it's not stainless steel, but it is accurate (I checked it against a kitchen scale, known to be accurate). The only downside is that it doesn't show smaller weights very easily, but you'd need a digital scale for that and the cheaper ones are not waterproof (and therefore will corrode in no time) and the waterproof ones are really expensive. Time will tell, but I think this was the right choice.
