Yaktastic
Bought these as I walk a lot with my dog and in winter if roads and pavements are snowy or icy 2 legs are not as sure footed as 4. They arrived very quickly and well packaged. Not had enough snow or ice locally to try them out so tried them at local indoor sking and snowboarding slope; absolutely brilliant. Fitted really easily and the grip was exceptional. After this short trial I am delighted with the product; all I need now is a local white out to really put them to the test. On sizing I recommend you use the method suggested on the Yaktrax website (link below) for measuring the circumference of the shoes or boots you will be wearing. I measured the two sets of boots I will be wearing them with. The measurement varied by 3 cm as one pair are wider due to additional insulation and rubberised waterproofing. Luckily both came within the large size range. Have fitted the Yaktrax to both pairs with ease and they are both a good secure fit.Yaktrak sizing advice page [...]

Saved from the Ice and Snow
I bought a pair of these because I have mobility problems and ice is my archenemy - but I still have to get to work! They arrived when we were gripped by frozen snow and I had already spent a couple of days off work simply because I couldn't get past the front gate. On went the YakTrax and off I went, walking down with the street with significant confidence! They work. Only an idiot would trust them 100% of course, you still have to be careful out there but my life has been turned around by this clever little device. I would recommend them to anyone who fears walking on ice or frozen snow. The fact that you can slip them on and off as well makes them very convenient to use when shopping or walking in variable areas. I wish that I had found out about them years ago!

44-46 is really shoe size. They are too tight for a 45 boot. The YakTrax website prefers circumference. For a 45 boot you really need extra large only available in pro. The toes tend to slip off under the boot toe in deep snow so you must tie them over the top with a lace including the toe or you will lose them. They grip well on ice.

Amazing - get some!
After getting a puppy in the summer, in preparation for winter walking, I wanted some grips to fit my boots as I did not relish the idea of slipping and sliding all over the place! Woke up to our first real snow fall this morning, slipped on the grips over my boots and ventured out. What can I say, these are just amazing. Didnt slip one single time, comfy to walk on, didnt even realise they were on (i expected them to be a bit rocky to walk on) can only sum up as just amazing. Dont hesitate to buy a pair! I am off to order another pair for a spare or walking companions!

take care not to lose them
I have used these over several years. They work very well on snow or ice, providing a secure, non slip grip on treacherous surfaces, as long as they stay on the boot. I have downgraded to three stars, because I have now lost three individual devices during walks on snow. At the end of three walks, I found that one of the grippers was missing from one of my boots. I have size 10 boots, and bought the L size, which is correct. I can't be sure, but I think the trouble might be with the rubber webbing that fits over the boo. It is possibly not tight enough on the boot to cope with rougher conditions, and the device slides off. A solution might be to lash the device onto the boot with string tied over the toe.

Walk on ice
These are the best invention ever - never slip on an icy pavement again! Run on frosty concrete! Save yourself a trip to A&E and buy these.

Failed after 3 days
The first thing that I should say is that the grip with these is really very good. They do give you a lot more confidence getting around on snow and ice. So why 1 star? Basically because they fell apart after just three days. The rubber snapped in one place and one of the springs partially unwound, They were not worn hard or used on particularly rough surfaces like rocks and they were sized and fitted correctly. They also had an annoying habit of creeping forward on the sole of your show while walking, which I suspect contributed to the failure. I would rate these as for very light occassional use and that makes them quite expensive.I would recommend spending your money on Yaktrax Pro or Kahtoola Microspikes instead. More expensive certainly but you will get more than one season out of them.

Works well but poor quality
So I finally got to wear them today for the first time as I was waiting until there was snow on the ground rather than just frost. On the whole they worked brilliantly and I never felt unsafe while walking. The massive disappointment is in the quality. I had only been walking for about 10 minutes when I felt something odd on occasions on my left foot. I looked down only to find that in 10 minutes one of the wires had already broken away from the rubber surround.I was expecting better quality I must admit.
