Q: is this an out door tree, and does it have eatable olives?

Hi Ivy,Only purchased mine a few months ago, was advertised in a 3 litre pot but arrived in a 1 litre and looked sick, it is now starting to grow, best see before you buy or from a good nursery. to answer your question it can live outside but requires protection from frost, in order to produce fruit it requires about 3 month cold weather and then a lot of sunshine for the fruit to develop and I believe you can eat them but are best cured as you would buy in the shops.Hope this helpsAlan

yes you can but it takes time to mature an olive trees in the UK, we do have better starter that have thick stem to start with.

Q: how tall does it grow as i want it for indoors at a window sill

I have had mine ten months now and it has been a nice slow grower, we did have to put it outside as our new kitten loved the taste, it just survived it's first Scottish winter so it is highly recommended by me, I would say about an inch or so per year at the moment.

Q: Before I purchase, is it exactly the same plant as in the gallery that I will be receiving?

It's 20 to 30 cm tall in the pot. I planted these in tye garden 2 years ago and they are 2 to 3 feet tall and thriving
