An improvement over others I have tried in the last year.
This is trackball three in my quest to find a wired replacement for the Logitech MX Ergo because I am very sick of wireless devices that get interfered with making them inoperable for seconds at a time and having to charge them every time I turn around. Yes, I know you can leave them plugged in but that does not solve the wireless issue. I have used the Perrix which was very narrow in acceleration to the Elecom which was marginally better in that regard but nowhere near the MX Ergo. The Elcom scroll wheel started jumping after 7 months and I could no longer stand to use it. This Sanwa is not bad ergonomically and would probably be ideal with someone with smaller hands than mine. It has some acceleration but nothing I have tried has the acceleration of the MX Ergo which means that with a big screen, you can zip across it with rapid ball movement and when slow have fine-grained precision. This Sanwa does have an acceptable level of acceleration so their development is moving in the right direction.

This is an excellent trackball
Unless you are gaming or something that requires a specific need for a mouse this trackball can easily replace your mouse. I've had trackballs in the past and own a logictech ergo m575 but this beats it hands down. I hadn't looked too much into the laser vs optical differences but I can say this trackball is super smooth across large 4k displaysThe only reason for 4 start instead of 5 is the deceptive marketing, they pitch this as being a Japanese based product however , and I strongly suspected this was going to be the case when I purchased it, it is actually manufactured in China

Comfort and easy to adapt to
Using a new mouse can have a learning curve, this product just plugs in and ready to use within minutes I was up and running.
