TOP NOTCH NASTINESS THAT COMMANDS YOUR ATTENTION FROM BEGINNING TO END
This is definitely '5 star' stuff. Within the first four minutes of episode one you get hit with a surprisingly deceptive twist in events to challenge what you've already assumed the cop's personalities were like, which provides you with the certain understanding that Harlee Santos ( Jennifer Lopez ) is definitely not the nice, morally dependable, female cop you thought she'd be. Twenty minutes in you get the second belt to your senses to cause you to reappraise matters further. Thirty four minutes in another totally unexpected act reels you round again and by the fortieth minute the foundations of your expectations have been completely blown away from under your feet to ensure that you'll be watching the next twelve episodes of this really gripping story to see what can possibly happen by the end. No one is innocent except for the odd child that may appear in one scene or another. Everyone is scrabbling for survival in the quagmire of corruption they've create for themselves, and they all know the price to be paid for making just one wrong move that doesn't fit. A great performance from Jennifer Lopez and Ray Liotta acts out the role of the family man cop, with a sideline in psychopathic tendencies, to a magnificent standard. This is a top notch film that they, thankfully, didn't boil down to a reduced couple of hours of action. No, they needed a lot more time to get the whole story in without cutting corners. What you get is thirteen 40 minute episodes of gripping twists, turns, and slides of fortune and fate in a decidedly shady cop's world where everyone is forced to survive on their wits and the stakes are far too high for failure.Eamonn

Gets off to a cracking start under the assured hands of Director Barry Levinson (Diner and Homicide - Life on the Streets). Despite some clunky dialogue at times and familiar scenery chewing by Ray Liotta the twists and turns of the plot keep one interested throughout. Particularly good to see "Adrianna" (The Sopranos) given a worthwhile supporting role after being somewhat underused in Sons of Anarchy The final episode cliff-hanger (no spoilers here) means I for one will be looking forward to Season 2.

Not What I Expected - Better!!!
This is a great TV series. Wasn't sure how it would go when I first watched it on TV. It is completely unlike other TV Cop shows because as the title suggests it cover degrees of corruption within the police and CIA. I won't say anything more about the plot but JLo and Ray Liotta are great together. I also like the other main female cop who works with the team. If you haven't seen it yet try it. I recommend it thoroughly.
