Leaves mostly small and broken but flavour okay and value is great
Leaves are not "cosmetically perfect" like the bunch of leaves shown. They are many sizes (mostly small), sometimes with insect-eaten holes, often broken. Not up to being the decorative leaf in the jelly glaze over liver pate. However they are clean and fit to use, and taste as required. The only snag is extracting them before serving. A few whole large leaves are easy to pull out, but not the many small bits of broken leaf you get here. If you are making mulled wine, they will settle on the bottom of the pan. In a stew, they won't.I think I will have to get a small muslin bag (like a bouquet garni) or tea infuser to put them in.Or brew them in a little hot water and straining the infusion through a tea strainer. The price outweighs this inconvenience. My local supermarket (the one exposed with dubious accounting) sell their own brand in glass bottle (3g for 50p), or Schwarz packet bottled (6g for £1), both working out at £16.67 per 100g. A packet of Prymat (Polish) bay leaves are 6g for 35p, or 25p each if you buy 4 packets. That is £5.83 or £4.17 per 100g respectively. This bag is £2/100g, free postage, so value is excellent. I am pleased with it.

A bit on the small size
Disappointed with this - thought the would be nice big bay leaves. Perhaps some of them were but the delivery person (not knowing what was in the package) rammed it in the letterbox so a lo of them were crushed. A lot of the ones remaining were the size of young privet leaves. I think I managed to save a quarter of the bag?

no return and not fit for purpose
Do not buy.....the leaves are small and half eaten, the bag is full of bitty leaves, i use them for curries, i purchased myn normally from an Asian food outlet,,,they are big and individual, these are like the sweepings from the floor, tiny, some insect has had holes out of them and the majority of the them is shredded, and you can not return, please do not waist your money, how are you supposed to fish the leaves out when there small half eaten , i would look at the size, when there more like curry leaves crushed and abnormal

Good value for money
I read reviews that said that the leaves were broken and of no use. My 100gr bag of leaves was brilliant. Very few broken leaves and anyway broken one can be put in as bouquet garni bag and used. The flavour is great and I am glad that I ignored the previous reviews.Very good value for money.
