Grand Trunk Evolution 20 Down Hammock - 20°F Cold Weather Hammock with Integrated Sleeping Bag for Camping & Backpacking

The Grand Trunk Evolution sleeping bag hammock is a game changer when hammocking in the cold weather. Recently went on a backpacking trip with lows in the mid-20s both nights and never once got cold in the hammock. My only recommendation when setting up the Evolution is make sure your head end is a little lower than your foot end. This is because you will slide down while sleeping thus covering your face which allows for condensation build up. Also, I added an adjustable ridgeline which makes setup faster and simpler. I’ve never hammock camped before and my first time was in the Adirondacks this week with night temps in the thirties. I slept very well. Basically this replaced a sleeping bag, a cot, and and sleeping pad. Very light weight.

This is a warm hammock. If you are a warm sleeper, you will want a cool/cold night to make the most of this. The warmth solves one of the issues with many hammocks - your back gets cold since you are off the ground. Thanks to the insulation under you, this is not an issue for this hammock.Comfort is pretty standard for hammocks - you really have to try a hammock to know if you like it, but if you like it you will like this.Camping with it is easy as long as you have hitching points. In theory you can use it like a sleeping bag, but if that is a use case, you will need a bed roll of some form. If you expect rain, bring a tarp. Hammock camping is pleasant but what it's solving is the comfort issue of laying on the ground, while adding new challenges in terms of locating your tethering points and getting in or out.Size is good. As a 6 foot man, I have found it to be a good size for me. The weight rating should make it easy for most folks - I had no issues.It's easy enough to set up, especially if you have experience with hammocks. If you do not, be sure to practice putting this up before you are fighting the straps in a darkening forest with rain coming down.It's pricey, but this is your hammock AND quilt in one. Price those two items out before you put this out of contention.

Absolitley love the diversity of this hammack! i first used it as a sleepi g bag option on a bed for an overnighter. It was soooooo warm. Love that it zipped rt up for my feet...felt.wide.amd so comfortable. Soft! True down fill!.worth the momey..Does.not include hammack straps. Mediium weight for hiking with. So insulated. Love!!!!! So happy i bought it. A.lil bulky

Quick and easy to setup. Great sleep. Recommend grabbing the net for mosquitoes.

Bought this on the chance that it would keep my warm on my cold backpacking adventures....and boy did it!!! What a find. Not only did this keep me warm, it was super comfortable all night. Having insulation built into the underside of the hammock kept the cold from getting to me. The materials and quality of this product is great! Additionally, this packs down smaller than my tent and sleeping bag. I have recommended this to all my adventure friends.

I have never liked sleeping in a hammock but this thing is so comfortable! The Evo lays wider than a normal hammock and I was able to sleep on my side. It held up really well to temperatures in the 40's. I have used it on several trips now and it has been great and so much more convenient than setting up a tent.
