Not chalk
These are not easy to use. I had a hard time getting ink into the bottom of the pen. They write great, much like a dry erase pen. They do not erase easily at all. They require a good bit of water and scrubbing. Not at all good for classroom use.

Whether this is good news or bad news for you it will wipe off of glass very easily
