It is very well written, faithful to the game with many details that some might have missed in the game.

If you are looking at this book, then it means that you are a fan of the game. If you are reading this review, then it means you are a really big fan of this game... like myself. That means that you need to get this book. File 01 is a wonderful adaption to the first half of NieR Replicant 1.22. This is basically the story in written form. Don't get it confused with a spin-off or Grimoire NieR. This is almost a carbon copy. While it sticks to the story and dialogue very closely, there are some details that are otherwise missed while playing a game. This media is different after all. I did miss some of the fun quotes by the characters *cough Kainé *cough, but we already know those quotes very well. This was a great read and only confirms to me how wonderful this game, story and characters are. A must for any Replicant fan. Even the Gestalt and Automata fans too. I look forward to File 02 coming out next year.

The book is pricy and its contents are of low "quality", the way the story is written brings out an unecessarly dark and depressing vibe and world building that does not exist so strong in the game. Moreover, it does not add anything of value to the story of the game unlike the Nier: Automata novels witch are well written and enrich the games story.

Nier: Replicant is my favorite game of all time, and this book is a natural companion to its story. You get a greater sense of perspective from Individual characters in this novel then the game gives you, as well as some extra context for several events in the game. I recommend 100%.
