I was looking forward to receiving this item as, for some time, I had been thinking of all the ways I could recycle old but useful junk to provide a source of power for garden lights or low voltage pond water pumps, but was sadly disappointed. I like the ideas but there are few useful illustrations for carrying the work through and the work only demonstrates how American English has departed from its original source.I did give it a go but, sorry fellas!

If you have already built a wind turbine then I suppose this book could provide a shopping list for American hardware stores. However, 'Draw a line horizontally along the length of the pipe and cut out the shape of your blade' is not an adequate instruction for the lay person to follow - and that is all the detail you get! There are many (uninformative) pictures of solar panels, but the one picture in the section on wind turbines is of a few bits of pipe and a tape measure.If you have the skills to build a wind turbine then have a go, if you don't then do some proper research. In either case you don't need this book.

This is a cheaply produced book - essentially three essays or blogs cobbled together - and it is not very informative. I returned my copy.

Content that a 2 minute Google search could provide. Nowhere near enough detail on anything other than super-basic information with lots of gaps. Hardly any pictures of any value. I’ll now buy a different book to get the info I was looking for.
