Just what I was hoping for!
Great knife! It's big, but not as big as I feared. VERY sharp right out of the box. Blade profile is just what I wanted, drop point and thick enough toward the point to lessen potential tip breakage. Very substantial blade, and the back edge is 90 degrees, perfect for producing a shower of BIG sparks with a ferro rod. Probably not going to use for butchering game (I use Outdoor Edge disposable blades for that-small, sharp and "nimble" in the hand for detail work.), but will be useful for camping. Blade guard, finger choil on handle and file work on back edge help with blade control. Definitely would buy again (waited for "good, used" grade for best value because I'm cheap!). BONUS: it's made in Taiwan, a free country that usually produces quality goods, an old friend of the USA.

Awesome Knife in Every Respect
I have been watching this knife for some time now because I love the appearance. Until recently, I have not pulled the trigger on it so to speak simply because I have six other Cold Steel knives and didn't feel that I needed another. Well, sometimes need has very little to do with the equation. To say the least, I am extremely pleased with this knife. The lines, angles, grinds, and edges are all as close to perfect as one could hope for, and it's razor-sharp. I have large hands and the scales fit me well. Their rough-looking texture provides a very secure yet comfortable grip. The cutout for the index finger is deep as well, adding to the overall comfort and stability. The gimping atop the spine is deep and positive, which feels extremely good. The tip is pointed and will penetrate easily, but has enough steel backing it up that the odds of it breaking are extremely remote. The blade is thick, about 4.5mm, but is not unduly heavy, even with its 6.5" length. You'll notice that the blade is a recurve. This enhances its ability to slice, slash and chop. Sharpening a recurve can involve a bit more work, unless one is skilled at using a flat stone. Me, I use the KaBar brand sharpener for all my knives, including a 12" bladed Kukri, which is nothing more than a highly pronounced recurve, and it does a fine job. The knife also balances well, right at the forwardmost edge of the scales. Weighing in at around twelve ounces, I feel it's pretty light for a knife of this size (about 11 1/2" in length) and mass. The polymer sheath itself is well made and durable. What I do not care for is the nylon strap that is attached to the sheath body. The flexibility of this strap will cause the knife to travel upward a couple inches during one's effort to draw the knife. This is not really a problem, it just adds a few seconds to the process. If you have a need for a military-grade sheath, then I recommend using the ballistic nylon sheath from Spec-Ops brand. They are a bit pricey and will cost about the same as this knife, but the quality is superb. Although I have used many different makes and models of knives over the years, I can say that dollar-for-dollar Cold Steel offers the best production-grade knives on the market. While we all have our own definition of "value", I see it as a sum of an item's quality, practicality, and price. Using this formula, I feel that the Razor Tek is an amazing value. I paid $65 for it, and it easily fits into a category of other brands of knives that range in price from $150 to $300. Because we all have our own unique preferences in what we want and need in a field knife, I can't say whether or not this would be a good fit for you. I can, however, say that as for me I love everything about this knife. I like it so much that I'm going to purchase another. While there is no such thing as any one knife that can handle every required task with equal proficiency, I feel the Cold Steel Razor Tek comes awfully close. When I hit the field, this will be on my belt, and I'll have a Leatherman tool, a Cold Steel AD10 folding knife, and a small hand axe inside my pack. The key to survival is always being prepared. Be safe out there, and God bless America and our troops!

Well-made and durable outdoor knife. Will rust in salt water.
Nice weight and length. It has a grippy composite handle that won't rot or corrode and seems very durable. Blade has a full tang and came sharp out of the box and is easy to resharpen. The heavy duty plastic sheath holds the blade securely and fits well. Only downside is that I use this on my boat in salt water and the blade must be washed and dried at the end of the day otherwise it will show signs of surface rusting.

Great survival knife option
I bought this because you can never have enough survival knives. Between knives and flashlights I may have an addiction problem. But I guess it’s better than other addictions. It’s sharp, built pretty stout and intimidating and all hell. It should last through any apocalypse you may run into. Zombies beware.

Great quality and very comfortable
Even though i may have overdone it on the size of the blade this knife is great quality for the price i paid, cold steel is a company i have heard of in the past and their products have never let the people ive spoken to down before.

RECOMENDABLE

So far so good! I received the knife and it’s a beast! I have yet to use it out in the field but it feels like it will be a great knife. Razor hair popping sharp out the box. One thing I would have liked to see or feel in this case, is a softer rubberized handle. This one is hard plastic but still chunky, the jimping is nice on the spine and it’s ergonomic enough that it won’t go flying out of your hand. On that note, I will definitely be adding a paracord lanyard to the handle for a little extra safety and aesthetics. All in all, it looks and feels like it’s going to be a great knife!

Quick delivery. Knife came shaving sharp. Handle was a bit thinner than expected and the blade slightly larger but this is one of the knives I'm taking into the woods even though I have lighter bush craft knives.

This knife can take a beating in the woods. Good for bush clearing, it can literally be used to chop down small trees, trimming and make kindling with a good edge retention. Cold Steel wasnt joking went they said they like to boast on how sharp their stuff is. If you are planning to use it for hunting bring yourself a skinning knives has its not mean for it. For a knife that's almost 200$ before taxes and shipping on the Cold Steel website, it was a steel of a knive on here for 90$ before taxes on sale. Recommended 💯
