No problem after 1 year.
Been on my door for a year and it’s working as new. No corrosion or problems and it’s as secure as these Yale type locks can ever be. You gain a bit of strength with the lip that wraps around the door but lose a bit with the extra holes needed for the barrel so overall it may not be any more secure but we need British standard locks for insurance don’t we. This is. By the way there is no restrictions on keys for this like there are for some others, that may be good or bad depending on requirements

Maximum security at a reasonable price
I needed to add a nightlatch to our front door which was only fitted with a mortice lock. Long term we intend to replace the door with a composite multi-lever door, but for the next 5-7 years we figured we needed at least to have a decent nightlatch.Initially I was looking at Yale locks, and wanted to ensure we had a lock which adhered to the latest British Standards for high security. Their BS rated locks seemed quite expensive, so I looked at locks by ERA and found this one which fitted the bill. This model is the 40mm body which is preferred unless your door frame simply cannot accommodate that size of lock. The finish is satin chrome which is what we wanted, and it comes with 3x keys (unlike the stingy Yales which only come with 2x). As a “maximum security” lock, this model features a lockable internal handle as well as an anti-drill external facing. The external facing is the chunky variety which doubles-up as a one-finger door pull, as opposed to a flush-mounting variety. The whole thing is quite large and hefty, which is reassuring on my door as it is the principle lock that we use. I didn’t fit it myself, I had our window-fitters do it, and I’m pleased I did as they had to chip and chisel the door and frame a bit in order to get a precise fit.As expected from a nightlatch, you can use the snib to hold the lock open so that the door can be opened from either side without a key, or to disengage the snib you simply turn the latch either clockwise or anti-clockwise until it clicks. The only beef I have with this lock - and the same would probably apply to others in this category, is that you have to have the key lined up perfectly vertical in order to get the key in and out. When in a hurry you can sometimes get the key in and the door unlocked, then struggle to get the key out because you haven’t quite returned it to the perfect upright position. I will chalk that up as user-error, but it has been a bit annoying on occasion. At a price of £47 (at time of review), I do think that’s a bit pricey for a nightlatch, but then compared to the Yale ones of a similar specification it’s positively cheap. We could probably have made do with a lower-grade model, but I wanted something properly hardcore if it was to be our principle lock for the front door.

Brilliant quality lock. Have purchased many and will buy more as I really like these ones.

External door pull has rusted.
Nice looking product or it was but it has rusted and considering the it’s situated under canopy so doesn't get directly rained on is very poor. May have been unlucky with a bad batch but still will never buy again. Else the lock itself and one on inside is fine. Shame.

Amazon review
I received this item direct from Amazon. It was described as new on Amazon but when it arrived it was clearly used. It had scratches on the internal mechanism and external surface and was not in its original packaging. The lock itself works and I fitted it as I could not delay getting the lock sorted. I am disappointed that Amazon would advertise an item as new and send out a used item. The rating I am giving is based on this. The lock itself is working fine.
