The magnet is super strong. The flight is to smooth on its own. I used sand paper to scuff it up. I used 80 grit, going perpendicular directions. It seems that was over-kill. Now sometimes the models stick too well and break off when removing from the plate. I would recommend using 220 grit sand paper for anyone else
