Great Book for a New Player!
The book really starts you at ground zero and works your way up. If you want to get better at the game it is very helpful!

Excellent First Book of Go Problems
This book is great for somebody who who knows just the rules but is interesting in getting stronger, and equally great from somebody who has played several games and is looking for high quality problems to practice with. The first several dozen problems are very easy, but after prob. 100 they can start to take some real thinking (at least for beginners). The author generally provides both the correct answer and one incorrect answer with a brief explanation of why its wrong. My only complaint is that the answers are in the back of the book rather than on the next page, but don't let that stop you from getting it.

Just difficult enough!
A frustrating set of life and death problems -- just what I'd hoped for! Builds nicely upon volumes 1 & 2, with problems that seem to increase in difficulty page by page.

Good for beginners (less than 9 kyu) to study
Studying the problems in this book will improve a player's tactical skills, liberty counting, and understanding the basic geometry of the game. They're at a level a beginner can understand

It's a great book
This is the best book you can buy for beginning GO. However, these prices are ridiculous. I bought a copy for $20. Look for it on Asian GO websites. Even if you have to pay a little more in shipping, you'll find it for MUCH MUCH Cheaper. Seriously, New for $190? Quit ripping westerners off!

Fantastic problem collection for beginners
Plenty of practice exercises for brand new players and beginners to the game of Go, covering a range of topics such as capturing, ko, life and death, and even end-game problems. Nicely formatted with large diagrams so each problem is easy to read.A perfect companion to this collection set would be Cho Chikun's "Go: A Complete Introduction to the Game".However, the problems can seem very basic quite quickly for those who put serious effort into studying the game and playing lots of games to improve, but, it is still a good task to complete this problem set to master some of the absolute necessities and basics of the game.

Another great book. Best choice for learning Go!
Excellent book. I'm using this book together with Cho Chikun's "Go - a Complete Introduction to the Game" to start to learn to play Go. I have no previous experience and am learning to play with someone who played three games in the late 1970's and fancied giving it another try. I have no natural aptitude for strategic thinking but am finding it so fun! This book is very clear and I intend to use it to learn at what ever pace I am capable of. I bought this from Go Game Guru UK. David from Go Game Guru UK could not have been more helpful. Excellent customer service!
