Q: Hi, I have a lot of big birds in my garden as well as small birds. Will feral pigeons, doves, wood pigeons sit on the tray? I hope not. thanks.

Hi, they are good feeders for stopping food dropping on the floor, but I have noticed the food going down quickly because two doves keep sitting on the trays, I am a bit disappointed about this. but its not all the time.

Q: Hi. Are the pegs and porthole surrounds actually made of metal or just plastic painted silver? Damn the squirells which keep chewing plastic pegs off!

Everything on this feeder is metal except the seed tube which appears heavy duty. Following the purchase of many plastic feeders, which were all completely chewed by squirrels, I gave in and bought 3 iBorn feeders with 6 portals. Expensive yes but in the long run worth it. The squirrels still try but give up. I did not have the seed tray because in the past it was a landing post for the pesky pigeons!! Hope this answers your question and your decision.
