Good buy.
I purchased this scanner to scan a visiting cat who I suspected was a stray. I tested the scanner on my other two chipped cats and it worked efficiently. The instructions are easy to understand. I am pleased with my purchased.

Great value, but came with minimal instructions
The device itself is great. My only criticism is that it came with terrible instructions. For anyone that wants to know how to view the saved data on a computer, this is how: 1. Scan the pet's tag (press the button and hold near the tag until it beeps). 2. Plug into a computer (tested on Windows 10). 3. Open a text editor (tested using Notepad) and make sure the window has focus. 4. Press and hold the button until the device's screen displays "uploading". 5. The contents of the devices memory should get pasted into text editor (as numeric text - one tag per line - most recent at the bottom).
