Excellent, Medical-Quality Home Oximeter (Measures Oxygen, Pulse, and Heartbeat Strength)--Made in USA
I purchased this as a "back up" oximeter (we have 2 others). My husband has some health conditions that make it important to keep tabs on his blood oxygen levels and pulse rate & oximeters like this make it quick & easy to take a measurement several times a day.I really like the simplicity of this one; it's made by Nonin, a trusted company that makes medical-grade oximeters in Minnesota. This one has a light-sensitive sensor that adjusts the backlighting of the display based on ambient light. It's easy to use, but be sure to measure with your "print side up" (meaning your finger should be inserted into the meter with your fingerprints FACING you, rather than fingernail side up). Read the instructions and you'll know what I mean. This appears to be very accurate (measurement agreed with our medical model, which has been calibrated with our doctor's), which is vitally important to those with critical health conditions. The lettering on this model is a digital readout in black; if you have impaired vision, it might be a little difficult for you to read. But if you have no vision issues, this is an EXCELLENT, affordable, quality choice. No lanyard is included, but you can add one to the "slot" so it can be easily worn around your neck for ease of access.Battery is replaceable, when needed. Highly recommended for value & utility!----Have a question about this product or topic? Just leave a comment & I'll be happy to help you, if I can.

Quality meter - well worth the price
We initially purchased a cheaper Chinese made SpO2 meter from Amazon. This first Chinese meter was accurate but only lasted a few month. We purchased another (same model) Chinese meter and it was dead on arrival. Then we spent a few extra dollars to purchase the American made Nonin GO2 and are very happy. The higher quality was evident the minute we opened the package. It's mush more durable and reliable. This meter has gone with us to the doctors office on 2 occasions to compare it against their professional meters and it was the same or within 1% of their meters every time (checked multiple fingers each visit). Our pediatrician and allergy and asthma specialist were both very impressed with the Nonin and have since recommended it to their other patients.

Life Saver - Literally
You have probably heard people use the word "Literally" so many times when it didn't actually apply to the situation. Well in this case it actually does. My mom has suffered from COPD for the last couple of years and it has been a constant up and down battle. Over the last couple of months she has been having a really rough time and we could not figure out why. The doctor she normally goes to see didn't seem to think there was a problem and just told her to wait it out. Well I went ahead and ordered this device after researching COPD and the importance of monitoring oxygen and heart rate levels.Pros:-The device seemed just as accurate and the one at the doctors office. (Right after getting her reading at doctors office came home and was within %1 of doctors reading.)-Quick readings: 30 seconds max-Turns off automatically to save battery life and turns back on when finger is placed in device. (These devices seem to love eating batteries just read the reviews on any brand - So a very handy feature.)-Nice fit for large and small fingers.Cons:-Back light is not the brightest could be hard to read in sunlight.-Eats batteries (Shuts off automatically and uses one AAA battery so not that big of deal.)Now back to the story. Well after we got the device we went ahead and started using it. When my mom took her reading it came back as 96% oxygen and 40 beats a minute on her heart rate. We thought this thing has to be wrong. The next day she had a doctors appointment and figured she would take it with her and see if it really was that low or just inaccurate. Well it turned out her heart rate was that low and the device was very accurate. The doctor didn't seem to be concerned though and just sent her home. At home we kept an eye on her heart and eventually it dropped down to thirty beats and she went to the emergency room. It turned out she needed a pace maker. To make a long story short if we hadn't monitored her heart with this she would have more and likely passed away that night. Everything worked out in the end and it does to show how important it is to monitor your bodies workings and get things taken care of when something is wrong. Of course always remember that these's device are not meant to give you sound medical advice but can always be a guide to ensuring that your body is in good working order.

Very good device, well made
This oximeter is accurate in tracking 02 saturation, it measured @ 1 percent low compared with doctors device. Good enough, and long battery life.

Don't waste your money on this one!!
when I rated this product when I first received it, I gave it 5 stars because it worked just fine. It lasted about 3 months then decided it didn't want to work anymore. My husband, being an engineer, tried many different ways to fix it, but no luck. The light turns on, but no reading. So, that being, I only give it 1 star. I'm hoping to contact Nonin and get a refund because it says 2 yr warranty, and I now have had it not quite a year. But reading previous unhappy customers, it's hard to contact Nonin to get a refund. My opinion on this product is: don't waste your money on this one.
