Perfect for my needs.
I love this sauce because it is a basic curry sauce which can be used either made up as a curry, or to add to a cassereole which needs a bit of extra flavouring and thickening (great for turning a leftover casserole into a curry on the second day!). I have used it both ways and was really happy with it.Update: I have also used this with mixed vegetables to accompany a somewhat dry chicken tikka biryani dish, and it was really delicious. If you want it hotter than you can always add a pinch of hot curry powder to spice it up even more. The flavour of this mix reminds me of the curries I used to have in the 1970s when curry became really popular, before all the different types of Indian curry became fashionable (before we'd ever heard of rogan josh, tikka masala, korma etc!) - and that was what I was looking for. Somebody else mentioned the old Vesta curries, and I fully agree with that - I loved them and used to have them regularly!!

C'est énorme
I bought this for a camping trip, although I have to admit I didn't realise how big it was going to be! It's a lot of curry. Taste-wise it's very mild and a bit sugary, so it's more "drape over chips" than actual curry-curry, although I've managed to spice it up with some tabasco sauce. If you add raisins etc it becomes a bit sickly.Preparation is easy. I add it to the rice in the later stages of cooking but it's palatable with boiled water and thirty seconds in the microwave, or a couple of minutes heated in a pan until it thickens. My hunch is that you could use it straight out of the container as seasoning with chips, although I haven't tried this. Perhaps one day. I can but dream. For the record I bought mine in March 2022, and it has a best before date of May 2023, but my hunch is that it'll probably last forever.

Not what you get from the chippy, but ok
This is NOT like you get in any chipshop we have up north, it is very orange and a smooth sauce, easy to measure into a jug and pour boiling water into and microwave for two portions. Its a nice enough curry sauce though but don't expect it to taste chip shop style. It is more like curry you would have with rice, cant see any vegan logos but cannot see any ingredients i was worried about.

A touch too much cinnamon but great nonetheless
I love Chinese chicken curry and thought I would try this at home. At first I found the cinnamon hints a bit strong but do like the taste now, it's pretty close to what I would get from the local takeaway in taste and consistency. For my Chinese chicken and chips, I slice some chicken and velvet it. I make up 250ML sauce as directed. I then rough chop some onions and fry them off, add the chicken, throw in some frozen peas and then pour in the sauce. Really simple and really tasty. Highly recommended.
