Is this prague powder #1 or prague powder #2?

I have two questions: (1) . Can I substitute this salt for regular salt? (I'm curing a ham). (2.) Will this salt give the ham a pink color?

This is NOT a substitute for regular salt - it's very concentrated and can be harmful to your health in large doses (it's not suitable to be sprinkled on food - this 4 ounce container will cure up to 100 pounds of meat). It would be suitable to cure a ham, please carefully follow the directions and measurements on the bottle. It will give cured meats a slight pink color.

I don't cure a lot of meat, just a little, what is the shelf life on this once opened?

It doesn’t have an expiration date but since it’s just salt and sodium nitrate it should last forever in your pantry. It should last as long as regular salt would last which has no expiration date.I liked it because it performed well and it’s a small amount because I don’t curr a lot of meat either. I bought it to make pork pate👍
