DEWALT DXCM024-0434 3/8" X 50' Enclosed Hose Reel

For years, I’ve spent a lot of time untangling and twisting my air hose to get it straight enough to reach the four wheels on my car or using my air sprayer and tools. After use, I’d have to re-wind the hose and place it on top of the compressor, getting it ready for the next use. Needless to say, wrestling the hose was quite a hassle. Now, using the compressor is a pleasure. I can simply pull it out to any length, and it stops. When I’m finished, I just gently tug it, and it retracts back into the case. This product offers excellent quality at an affordable price.

For a product made of plastic it feels very sturdy. It was incredibly easy to install. The hose itself feels sturdy enough but you never really know until they face the test of time. It doesn't leak. It retracts easily just be sure to not pull the hose out too far - there is a little piece of tape on the hose when it is almost maxed out. If you see the tape - stop pulling. If you do happen to pull it out too far to where it doesn't seem to want to retract, you just need to grab the hose around where that tape is and pull hard a couple more inches then it should fix itself.

Love having this in my garage, no more coiling the old orange hose I replaced, doesn’t get as dirty/ have dirt cling to it as the old hose I had. I do wish the hose from the unit down to my compressor was a little longer as my compressor is a 4 or 5 gal/ about 2 1/2’-3’ tall, so I mounted the hose as high as I could while leaving play in the connection. The hose and reel are heavy duty quality material, I use this for everything from auto, sports equipment, to woodworking air tools, the hose length is perfect for my garage and set up, mounted in the center rear wall and reaches everything I need it to. It recoils nicely and matches my other black and yellow DeWalt tools nicely.

DEWALT DXCM024-0434 3/8" X 50' Enclosed Hose Reel Overall this is a nice looking and functional hose reel. Installation on a wall was very easy. Just screw the plate to the wall, align the reel to the plate, and drop in the plastic hinge bolt. The hose feed on the reel is about 3 feet long which is more than I was expecting, but likely not long enough to reach a floor air compressor. You will need to order another feed hose to go from the air compressor to the reel. That said, I do appreciate it having a feed hose rather than just a male plug like many do as this keeps stress off the connection since the reel can swing side to side. The reel will pivot on the hinge about 60 degrees to each side which should be plenty for almost all applications. I was concerned about the plastic pivot mount, however the plastic is very thick and it looks like it will hold up well. My only complaint is that I wish they had put about 2 more turns on the spring retract. Although the hose will fully retract, the last ~3' sometimes requires me to manually lift the end a bit to allow it to fully retract. Not a deal breaker, but also something that should have been set better at the factory.

Really nice quality. Hose is very flexible and high quality. Locks and retracts easily. Fits right in with the rest of the DeWalt tools!

This was one of the best attachments I bought for my compressor. It is high quality and works well in cold Canadian weather. It keeps the hose nicely coiled up and clean. Very convenient to use! Recommended if you want a good product.
