Marumi DHG Super Circular Polarising 72mm Filter

Fantastic polarizer. I read about Marumi on another site and wondered how it compared to the excellent polarizers by their competitors. This is a great product, works well, and performs with a small enough footprint so as not to introduce any vignetting when installed. Highly recommended as an alternative to other filters!

This CPL does not introduce any color cast, nor have I noticed any reduction in resolution. (Not saying there isn’t any, just that some CPL filters obviously impact resolution). I bought this Marumi DHG CPL filter only because I was looking for the Marumi Digital PRO, but could not find it and was hoping the DHG would work the same as the Digital PRO. It doesn’t. I have been buying the Amazon basics CPL because they are good enough and cheap enough to have one on every lens. I have yet to compare the DHG to the Amazon basic.

I used these Marumi CPL's for years, and have one on four of my lenses. Great polarizing effect, superior build quality, minimal to non-existent flaring and reflections. These are the only circular polarizing filters I will use.

I was really not looking forward to buying a new CPL. I just bought two new lenses, though, and my current 67mm B&W Kaeseman filter wasn't big enough. The 86mm B&W filter was well over $200.00, so in the interest of a happy marriage (wife threatened to kill me if I spent that much on a filter) I decided to take a chance on the Marumi. I'm very glad I did. Nice optics and higher light transmission than my B&W filter. The only difference I see between the two is a bit more lens flare in the Marumi if there is a bright light source in the picture. Since CPL filters don't do much when they're pointed straight at the light, I don't find this a real issue. The quality of the picture, even at 100% magnification, appears to be the same. I even think the Marumi has a slight edge in how much glare it blocks. A great CPL for about half the price of the best B&W model.

Very good but not the best available from Marumi. Remember this is 52mm Marumi DHG (Digital High Grade) Circular Polarizer as mentioned in the product description. The pictures for this product are misleading as there are of the 72mm "Super" (= better coated) line of filters from Marumi. Even then, this is supposed to be technically better than most other well-known brands according to [...]. My decision to buy this was based on their assessment. I must say I am quite happy with the performance of this product for the price (I would have preferred "Super"). See my user pictures for more details. Good luck!

Marumi filters are high quality products, particularly the Super DHG line. They are a great value. Don't buy a filter just on price. Remember you are taking a picture through it and you can ruin the ability of a good lens with a bad filter.

One of the major benefits of a mirrowless camera is compactness. That means small camera, small lenses, small camera bag and small accessories.Everyone except perhaps the manufactures realize that a PL does not stay on the lenses all the time. Therefore, there needs to be a case in which the PL filters, and most other filters, can be carried and protected when not on a lens.Unfortunately, many manufacturers of filters don't understand, nor appreciate, the need to provide cases that match the size of the filter when selling small filters. The case for this little 37mm filter will hold a 55mm filter. In addition, the manufacturer chose to extend the case by 1/2 inch of unnecessary plastic so that a retailer can hang it on a metal peg. The extension is not even paper, nor cardboard, so it cannot be easily cut off.So, I am now going to have to buy another filter than comes in a case of appropriate size, perhaps a Hoya that comes in a round case and without an unnecessary extension, so that I will have a case that fits my small camera bag.This filter probably works great. I will take it out shooting, and give it a try, once I get a case that fits both the filter and my camera bag. Until then, it stays at home. It cost too much to be scratched or damaged because I don't have a case that is of appropriate size; a case that will allow it to be put into my camera bag along with two other PL filters; I need to carry a 37mm, 46mm and 52mm PL filters. The filter is reasonably thin, but the case is much too large.

Era tempo che volevo comprarlo ed ho deciso di procedere con tale acquisto dopo non aver potuto fotografare uno dei tramonti più belli mai visti. L’ho provato subito, con dei piccoli test fotografici a luce naturale e non, e devo dire che la qualità della foto non è stata per nulla compromessa. Innesto perfetto senza perdere tempo e opaco uniforme su tutto il filtro. Consiglio vivamente questo filtro come anche altri della medesima casa, costano ma sono soldi ben spesi per chi non vuole perdere la qualità fotografica di obiettivi ad alte prestazioni.

Ritengo marumi la marca migliore per quanto riguarda i filtri polarizzati

Recently my DHG Super CPL 62mm crashed but saved the lens. I ordered the same one and was not disappointed. The filter itself and the box are completely the same as I had before! Overall image quality is very good. Made in Japan
