The Alibi: A gripping crime thriller full of secrets, lies and revenge

First book by this author and i have to say i will read jamies other ones. As an avid lover of Kimberley Chambers ,Mandasue Heller and Kerry Barnes i couldnt wait to get started on this book but have say while the story had me gripped it wasnt in the same legue as kimberleys and mandasues but maybe thats my fault for putting these authors on a pedastool. is a good read though but didnt read it as quick as i usually did. but still enjoyed reading about newspaper journalist beths antics and her quest to solve the murder of a tv star by trying to prove local gangster and ex husbamd was behind it only to have loads of twists involving her copper ex husband. Def worth a read and i hope the other books are a bit better

Beth has a great job being staff crime reporter and when news breaks that the famous Megan fuller is killed beth does all she can to fund the killer. Canny is married to Megan and Beth's follows her gut on him being the killer and does everything in her power to turn his alibi even when she's met with lots if threats...will beth see the result of the investigation or does she met with the threats made. Excelling book lots of twists and turns.

It's certainly a great thriller as would be expected keeps you guessing to the end,full of turns and lots of action.great characters only thing it will cause late nights as its a can't put down book.

Love this writers style. The book had me gripped i could not put it down. Great characters and excellent story. This writer writes under a couple of different names and i found him by reading one of his books under the name J P Carter. I will look forward to reading the rest of his works.

Same genre as Martina Cole, June Hampson etc. A good read for anyone who likes this type of book. Unlike Martina Cole's latest works this book has chapters rather than one page calling itself a full chapter. The characters are strong, the story has lots of twists and in my opinion this realistically priced novel makes a great holiday read.

Absolutely loved this, Beth Chambers is a reporter & her ex husband is a DI with the police & he's also in the pocket of the local gangster, the author brings everyone together but writes about them separately, read this in two days & I can honestly say it's absolutely fantastic, well deserved 5*****

I really enjoyed this novel from beginning to the ending. It held my interest all the way through. There are a lot of twists and turns in this story. It is well written and you truly care for the main character. I also liked that it takes place in England. That always makes it a bit special for me because I like to read about other countries.

I really enjoyed the twists and turns this book took me on. It kept me up at night so I could keep reading. But now that it's over I'm so sorry. I'm going to miss Beth Chambers and all that she went through. It's a very exciting, and thrilling read.

I couldn't find one main character that held my attention. I wanted them all to suffer.The action was entertaining

Was hard to put down. Keeps you guessing. I really connected with the characters and wished it would not end!
