Lush & Blooms: Floral Watercolour Collection

I enjoyed the pretty pictures but ended up returning as I was expecting more of an instructional book. She is an amazing artist and the book really is lovely just not what I expected.

This book is an excellent aid to the related videos Esther Peck has available on You Tube. The book is easy to follow and tells you what supplies are needed prior to starting to paint. I hope Esther will produce more books in the future.

This book is NOT an instructional book. The first picture I posted is the MOST instructional page in the book. The second picture is what most of the book offers.

Though the book is beautiful, it does not show how to sketch or paint. This artist has a great niche and teaches her art. But this book will not teach you how much to paint.

Esther Peck's watercolor blooms are really pretty and fun to paint. I can't wait for her next book.

Love this colorful book. Easy to follow the drawings and enjoy the simplicity making variations of flowers.

This is such a beautiful book, colour's and works of art are stunning this should inspire any artist or beginner to watercolour flowers.

The media could not be loaded.  For those of you who want to decorate your greeting cards and calligraphic projects with loose watercolour florals, this book is for you.This is not a step-by-step book on painting florals. It mostly contains a vast collection of the author’s work on floral clusters and wreaths, some of which have modern calligraphic writing added. I have found this book to be very useful for me as it helps me design my own watercolour florals by studying the author’s designs. I copied many of them initially for practice before designing my own. Although this book came out first, it is actually more of a follow-up to the author’s other book “A guide to floral watercolour.” Both are great books.This book is approximately 21.5 by 21.5 cm. The author has a very useful YouTube channel in which she covers some of the lessons from these books. I noted that the pictures of the flowers in this book are not as vibrant as those in her YouTube channel.Although this book is rather expensive, I believe that it is a more worthwhile purchase than those other beginner books I bought previously. The number of illustrations/examples in this book more than make up for the price.Thanks to this and her other book, I have learnt how to paint wreaths and decorative floral clusters, and add them to my greeting cards and calligraphic projects.

Ich habe das Buch in den YouTube Videos von Esther Peck gesehen. Sie zeigt dort immer wieder Tutorials von diesem Buch, die sehr hilfreich sind. Leider habe ich gedacht, dass im Buch auch alles sehr gut beschrieben ist. Ich wurde etwas enttäuscht, daher gibt es einen Stern Abzug. Das Buch ist trotzdem sehr schön gestaltet und hilft mir in der Aquarellmalerei. Es gibt auch Beispiele fürˋs brush lettering. Wer aber glaubt hier eine Schritt für Schritt Anleitung zu finden, wird enttäuscht. Vielmehr ist es eine Sammlung und Präsentation der Werke von Esther. Das Buch ist in englischer Sprache. Wer also ein Problem damit hat, kann nur Bilder anschauen. Für mich ist es kein Problem, wie gesagt, habe ich mir aber etwas mehr versprochen. Allesinallem hat man aber eine gute Sammlung von Mustervorlagen, Anregungen und wunderschönen Aquarellmalerein. Unterschiedliche Blumen bis hin zu den Succulenten.... Es hat seinen Platz bei mir gefunden.

This book is truly beautiful!However with the reviews and talk online I thought this book would be a how to and easy to follow. I was disappointed to see it was not a step by step as I have been reading in reviews and on platforms. It is a collection of her beautiful work. I would not recommend this book if you are wanting to learn how to paint florals. I do recommend it for just an inspirational book but the price was too dear for that as well. The author does say that she has videos but I have found that even in the videos they are snippets of instruction, with no direction or reason why she does things. I did attempt to follow along and was frustrated with the lack of instruction and having to figure it out. She does state though on her back cover and that it is a collection of her work. Very talented artist! I look forward to watching her channel fill with tutorials.

El libro es muy bonito, y la edición está muy cuidada, pero en realidad no es exactamente un manual para aprender a pintar flores con acuarela, vienen muy pocas explicaciones, lo que hace es mostrar el trabajo y las reflexiones de la artista. Esperaba otra cosa.
