Summer Hill Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy Cream 25g

I've been a Crabtree & Evelyn fan since the 1980s. The scents back then were lovely. It's difficult to find these now so I was thrilled to find this Summer Hill hand lotion. The beautiful fragrance is there plus the quality of the hand cream, very moisturising but not sticky or too heavy. A real gem that I enjoy using.

This is a really good hand cream that rubs in well and doesn't feel greasy. I think it helps moisturise my dry, cracked winter hands well and doesn't sting or just sit on the skin like some other brands do. I've bought numerous hand creams from Crabtree and Evelyn, so I'm a real C & E hand cream fan. The only reason I've deducted a star from this one is that it smells very strongly of lilies. Nothing wrong in that if you like lilies, but unfortunately I can't stand them. I bought this flavour to try because I expected it to have a summery fragrance, but to me it just smells of lilies. I don't want to put anyone off though, as this is a lovely hand cream and if you enjoy the scent of lilies, then this is perfect for you. I don't think the smell is overpowering - just lily-ish (if that's a word).

I loved summerhill and was delighted to see some still available. So disappointed with the aroma. It smells stale and weak. Not the Summerhill recall at all.

Good product and despite the high price, does what it says. Good for hands.

nach den guten Rezensionen bei den anderen Handcremes (Duft Zitrone und Rose) wollte ich mir auch etwas besonderes gönnen. In der Rezension aus Mai bei Zitrone steht geschrieben, daß man bei Crabtree den Unterschied zu "Billigcremes" deutlich merkt. Das kann ich nicht nachvollziehen und auch auf keinen Fall bestätigen. Im Gegenteil! Zum einen sind die Produkte von Crabtree nicht unumstritten. Diverse Tests (im Internet nachzulesen) bescheinigen partiell sogar extrem schlechte Noten für diverse Produkte/Inhaltsstoffe. Und bekanntermaßen heißt "hochpreisig" noch lange nicht auch gleich "richtig gut". Also die Tatsache, daß diese Handcreme eigentlich exorbitant teuer ist (7,-- Euro für 25 gr), ist nicht gleichzeitig ein Garant für hohe Qualität. In namhaften Drogeriemarken gibt es Eigenmarken für Naturkosmetik. Dort finde ich aber wirklich bessere Handcremes, die auch schnell einziehen, in größeren Tuben zu deutlich moderaterem Preis. Und die, die ich bislang hatte, die duftet auch wesentlich besser als die von Crabtree. Das war für mich jetzt ein Ausflug in vermeintlichen Luxus den ich nicht wiederhole. Die Alternativen aus der Drogerie mit den von Ökotest als gut/sehr gut bewerteten Produkten sprechen mich da wirklich mehr an. Die Augenwischerei, daß teuer qualitativ besser ist als preiswert, kann ich nicht gut heißen.

Absolutely wonderful scent! Have used for years & so horrified at prices of lotions! Over $280!!!! These small tubes are affordable. The British company was bought out from what I've read. The sellers who still have the lotions in stock are gauging those of us who want to buy them. Shame on you!

Yes, Crabtree & Evelyn sounds grandmotherly, but I've been using the Summer Hill fragranced hand lotion since I was a young adult. I've always come back to it after trying out other more "modern" lotions, at first because of the wonderful fragrance that no other lotion has ever come close to, but also because it is the only hand lotion that doesn't make me want to immediately wash my hands after applying. It's just honestly good stuff!

The scent is very light and florally. It's not that strong once you've applied it, which is why I knocked a star off. It does moisturize the hands, but nothing out of this world. Also, the price tag is a bit high for the quantity, but I would say it is fair enough for the quality. I will continue buying Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Lotions because I love their scents!
