Q: Is the base draws made from thin mdf that will buckle or is it plywood?

They will definitely buckle the whole thing is cheap and nasty not worth the money at all not even worth a £5 worst thing I bought

It's self assembly. You would have to contact the manufacturer to ascertain if it's sourced from sustainable woodland.

Q: Do i need a drill to assemble this?

Mine had no pilot holes, so a drill is required. I used a 2mm bit with tape wrapped around it allowing 10mm. from tip to prevent damage to panels. Also the dowels will need to be cut back to 10mm. after gluing into runners or you will damage side panels. You can neaten the ends using a cheap pencil sharpener. Dry fit runners to mark pilot hole positions, drill holes, glue and screw runners. Drawers will need a 1.5mm. bit.

Q: How deep are the drawers

The drawer fronts are 16cm deep and the actual interior depth is 15cm
