Love it!
I like to chew on ice but I don't want to negatively impact my teeth. So this ice shaver has been a blessing!

Easy to shave
Easy to shave the ice. Works great just wish you could do more at one time.

Fun
This is such a fun summer item to have. The kids love using it to make shaved ice. It is not very fast though, so sometimes it starts melting before you can make them all. It also can be a bit difficult to use.

Happy kids
This ice shaver is easy to use, easy to assemble, makes wonderful snowflakes for snow cones. Good quality. Very satisfied with the quality and price.

Not shaving like I thought it would
It was not shaving the ice or even the ice made by its own container. :(

Easy setup, but only makes one or two small cones
Was really excited to try this out. We've been using the blender to crush up ice for "snow cones" but they just aren't quite the same. When I saw this option I thought it would be a fun way to make shaved ice for the kids on these hot summer days! This unit comes with one container to make a specially-shaped piece of ice that will fit into the machine. The way this is designed, you can't use your existing ice cubes. The container took about a day to fully freeze, and didn't take much work to get the ice cube out when it was time to use it.The top of the machine does a slight turn to pop open, and then you stick the ice inside and there is a spring-loaded mechanism on the inside that latches onto the ice and spins it against the blade to shave the ice, which drops into a handy bucket. Simply spin the handle on the top to turn it and shave the ice. It was really simple, but also pretty loud, so in a smaller space it can be a bit obnoxious. The single ice cube we had barely made enough for two very small snow cones, giving enough ice for about half of a small glass before adding any syrup. If you want a large "shaved ice" it's at least one of these ice blocks per cone. Because you need their specially-shaped ice cube, this means you really have to make these in advance and store them in maybe a ziplock bag or container. We have six kids, so to get each of them one means we need to start freezing these at least a week in advance. As far as I'm aware, there is no option to buy additional containers. Ideally, this machine would either be bigger to accommodate a larger ice block (which I know would turn away some buyers) or come with multiple containers to make multiple ice cubes. As is, this is a bit cumbersome and I'm not sure how often we'll use it. It's a neat idea, and what it comes with works well...it's just not practical for a larger family.

Great kitchen toy, that can be electrified!
I've wanted a shaved-ice machine for years. This is a fun unit to have. The Ahosoutly Shaved Ice Machine is well made and seems durable. It makes a good pile of shaved ice relatively easily and quickly. The unit consists of a spring-loaded top that presses an ice cube down onto a stainless-steel blade that shaves the cube. The top is designed to be turned with a crank (more about that later). The ice cube is shaved down to a thin slice at which point, the slice needs to be removed and another ice cube inserted. The blade is sharp and makes quick work of the cube. The shaved ice can then be used in snow-cones, drinks, etc. Because a thin slice of each ice cube does not get shaved (it’s part of the design; it’s not a defect), it's more efficient to start with larger ice cubes rather than smaller ones. The unit is designed to be hand-powered and works well that way. However, in place of the handle, I screwed a 1/2" nut onto the threaded spindle and on this put a 1/2" socket mounted in my cordless impact driver. With that, I have a variable-speed cordless electric ice shaver that works like a charm (see photo). It shaves through a large ice cube in less than five seconds! NOTE: this modification probably voids any warranty that might exist and is not something that was either recommended or approved by the manufacturer.Of course, the quality and flavor of the resulting shaved ice will depend on the quality of the water used to make the ice cubes, and I’d recommend using good-quality water. This ice shaver is great! However, there are two limitations:* The blade is fixed and so the shaving size is not adjustable. While this is a limitation, I do not really see it as a drawback because the shavings that the unit produces are quite nice; they're uniform and fine. If the blade were adjustable, I think that this would just be something else that might break. Bottom line here: I do not see this as a real limitation.* While the blade is removable (and so can potentially be resharpened), it would be nice if the manufacturer offered replacement blades, or possibly a replacement blade in the box.Despite these minor limitations, I have no reservations in highly recommending this ice shaver to anyone wanting a way to make shaved ice. It's a simple, durable, versatile piece of equipment that would be fun for children or adults, alike. I plan to take the unit on my next camping trip as there will be plenty of ice in the coolers that we can use as feedstock.Apart from including a spare blade, my other recommendation to the manufacturer would be that some sort of sticker brand name or label be placed on this ice shaver; the unit that I got was not labeled and entirely white, and I’m sure that there will be questions from friends regarding who makes it and how to get one.

Simple, easy and effective
My kid simply loves it. Although there are some electronic versions of Slushie Machines, I picked this manual one because it is more interactive for kids and I think I made a good decision. He likes to make the Slushie by himself.
