Simple install, worked perfectly. Cut initial amp draw by 38 amps. Plus I don't hear the compressor start from inside the house. My Goodman A/C 3.5 ton now works on my battery back up and solar input.

I wish I had discovered the Soft Start Home years ago. This item is high quality and built in the US with english speaking customer and technical support! The company provides custom drawn wiring diagrams for your application. Technical support, Danny, was very helpful and provided me with a custom wiring diagram in less than 24hrs. Highly recommend this product if you are trying to run a central air condition on solar or generator!

Easy to install. They sent everything needed in the box except the crimp tool for the terminals and the screwdriver, and electrical tape. Seriously the terminals, mounting screws, and even some zip ties for wire management, with a few extras. I've been monitoring my usage for a while as I'm getting some back up power systems and this thing reduced my ac starting inrush current by 72.2%! It dropped from 18,000w down to an incredible 5,000w! That's crazy and will help save a ton of money just on the back up power system sizing to run the whole house....not to mention savings and reduced compressor wear. Well...as long as this think lasts. These devices do fail like anything else does and I may pick up another to pit on the shelf as a backup. I just hope they didn't cheap out on the capacitors they used in this box like some of the competitors have recently. 5 stars on ease of installation and results...Hopefully it will stay that way based on longevity as well.

I have a near new HVAC system with the compressor right outside my bedroom window. The compressor starts with a fairly loud thump which can wake me up at night. I purchased this unit believing that the soft start would quiet the loud starting noise as indicated in the advertising. The unit has not diminished the loud starting noise very much at all. (I do have a solid green light at the soft start unit when the compressor is running.) Because the unit is not quieting the compressor at start up, I am not confident that any of the other features touted, such as extended compressor life, can actually be expected. I do not have the equipment needed to see if the start amperage has actually been lowered by the soft start unit, so I have no way of knowing if the unit is working at all. The unit was a very large expenditure for me and I am very disappointed. Finding installation instructions for my unit, which is a common brand, was difficult to locate on the manufacturers web site where I was steered to a non pro home owner youtube vid that was difficult to follow. UPDATE: Two days after installation, the unit has failed completely and will not start my compressor. I had an HVAC guy look at it and it was wired correctly. Now looking forward to the return process !

I purchased this product for my 3.5 ton air conditioner. I needed it because my solar backup batteries could not handle the 112 amp surge when my unit started. I received the unit and immediately emailed the company on a Sunday for a wiring schematic for my a/c. Ready for this, the tech for Soft Start called me the same day!!! On a Sunday!!! He then walked me through the entire installation. It took me about 15 minutes. Now my unit starts up using half the amps and the compressor starts up quietly. Wow!!! I’m gonna buy these for my kids for Christmas. Everyone needs this, less wear on the compressor means my unit will last longer. Thanks for a great invention! PS, my a/c company had no idea how to install it! Lol

Items were shipped promptly and the kits were all inclusive, with a variety of spade and ring lugs, mounting screws, etc. No need to purchase any additional items. Most importantly though is the excellent customer support that came with this product. Their personal customer service was exceptional and refreshing; the best ever!
