MonstrumSpectre 1-8x28 LPVO Rifle Scope

I have a g3 3-18 on one of my rifles and I am very happy with that optic. I have a 45-70 that I wanted an optic on that had good eye relief and didn’t need excessive power. I found this lpvo and it had all of the options of the g3 just in second focal plane. This will be used for hunting, so figured a second focal plane optic would be better suited for my needs. I originally had a Leupold scout scope. It’s turrets do not track very accurately with that scope. I would try to adjust it, but the adjustments didn’t seem to be consistent, so had trouble getting it sighted in and holding zero. I then placed this optic on and is sighted in with no issues. This optic also holds zero very well. I set it and it hasn’t moved since sighting in. Very sturdy optic, image is clear through it too. The eyebox can be a bit finicky at the highest magnification setting, but I’m happy with this scope. It will serve me well.

Beautiful, well made. Very clear and easy to adjust. Works like a champ, great deal for the money.

It appears we’ll made with good clear glass and bright illumination. Good choice as long as you’re not looking for something for a lightweight application

Not very long which is a benefit for the AR platform. Clear glass and good magnification. Pop up turrets and mount included. I'm very happy this this piece.

Attached this to a 6.8 x 43 AR platform with 18 inch shooting tube. So far after a box of ammo everything is still zeroed. The second focal plane is nice but I would have liked the reticle to be just marginally, so very little bigger. An awesome addition is that the reticle has a light setting in green or red. The center part of the reticle lights up in various intensities, an innovative feature. I think Monstrom has done a great job with this scope and I hope they continue to do so in the future.

I really wanted to like this scope. Ive been looking for a decent cheaper 1-8. And all the reviews and research i did led me to believe this should be the one. However I just couldnt handle the fish eye effect, it was too disorienting to me on 1x.I wanted this for the reticle mostly, its really great in my opinion, a very concise center dot, as well as alot of the other features. The build quality, the turrets, even the glass clarity is pretty good like the youtube videos show. illumination has a little left for desire, but in lower light is fine. For the money its really a pretty good scope. I just could not come to grips with the fish bowling.Ive had a couple other cheap lpvo's in the 1-6x24 and honestly the most imprestive glass quality ive seen out of them is the firefield rapidstrike, Im just not a fan of a thick horseshoe dot style reticle. Some people seem to love this brand, and no doubt they have some quality products. Theres gonna be a quality range out of this pricepoint and i guess i didnt luck out with a great one. Hopefully a gen 2 of this will bring a slightly better glass quality for around the same price.

Installed on an AR-10 build I have and I love it. Definitely isn’t a vortex or like brand but for the price definitely can not go wrong, I have put tons of rounds through my .308 rifle that kicks a good bit and it still holds zero. Easy to mount and pretty clear glass. Definitely worth the price!!!

Mounts easy sights in easy. No issues so far.
