All that glitters isn't gold! Revised as of 10/17/20
I wanted to wait a bit before I reviewed this item. While very pleasing to look at, its become problematic after the first cleaning cycle. I recieved mine on May 25 of this year and it worked perfect until I had to do the first cleaning after 60 or so brews. On five different occasions the past month or so it literally explodes during brewing, coffee literally everywhere! I've had to take a portion of it apart and clean as best I I can. It will go for a couple brews in between and mass destruction again! Plus the plate stays hot for only 40 minutes and you can just simply turn it on again. I'm literally about to start looking purchase a different machine!Revised as of 10/17/20Ok...I had to revisit this review and be honest and fair. The initial review was written and I realized that I may have been at fault for the device malfunctioning, and as far as I can tell this far I was. There's one thing I decided to do different before revising my initial review, and that was put less coffee in the basket. The brewing cycle is pretty quick, which means the water is dispersed in manner that makes the coffee grounds expand quite a bit. If the basket is full, well the result is clearly seen in the pictures I posted. In short, 3/4 or so full on the grounds saves a ton of clean up!Update as of 7/31/24I've had this particular coffee maker now for a few years. Still working amazing but I recently cracked my glass carafe only find out that they are no longer available for purchase from the manufacturer.

POT
Pot is stylish and looks high end, coffee brews quickly. The plastic cover over water receptacle startled me at first because it wasn't attached and I dropped it. But I know now to place on counter and then lay it back on top when done pouring water in.

Love the 40 min auto off and the removable lid
Unlike most reviewers I see the 40 min as a bonus, it could even be more like 20 min. Just need it hot for a cup or two, then it just heats the rest unnecessarily, diminishing the taste. If another cup is needed later, I re-heat just that. Or easily dump the rest in a jug for the fridge. Also I like the removable lid, better than having it on a hinge which makes it harder to fill. Also love the basket and 3 hold sprayer. I think the ppl overflowing are dropping the basket in rotated. I see that it kinda fits 180 degrees but doesn’t sit all the way in. Removing one star bc it arrived with the black glass cover broken off. I glued it back on.

Inferior to prior models
We own the 7000 series of this coffee machine from Russell Hobbs, which is why I was willing to pay a premium for another one of their machines. Sad to say, this is new machine is a BIG disappointment. In summary:- The water carafe does not remove to fill (I expected this to be the case because the old version allowed for this). So you're forced to use the pot to fill it, but the pot does not have measurements on it, so you have no idea how much water you're adding until it's too late- You have no idea if the warmer is on. It says the warmer stays on for 40 minutes, but there is no light to see if it's on like the previous one- This new model is not as slim. I liked the previous model because it was slimmer and took up less space. This new model is wider and takes up more space on the shelf we keep it on- Although the machine says it is faster, it's loud. I can't verify if it's truely faster, but I've had to walk away when I'm on a conference call and the machine is making coffee because it's too loudPROs: There are some new features, but I don't think they out weigh the items above- There's a timer that I have yet to use- There is a reusable filter, which I actually love.- There's a cleaning functionIn summary - my machine is getting returned. I'm hoping Russell Hobbs goes back to manufacturing the 7000 series because I miss it!

Great Coffee Maker except...
The warming plate only stays on for 40 minutes after you start the brew cycle. Being a single person, I cannot drink 8 cups of coffee in 40 minutes!!! Big oversight on the British manufacture in not allowing you to adjust the warming plate time past their mandated time frame. The coffee made by this unit is great. However, the simple oversight from the manufacture to not allow a longer "keep my brew warm" is a huge issue.

Quality and design
I was looking for a good design and not a cheap looking coffee maker.Reviewing several products I had to take a decision between this product and kitchen Aid coffee maker but a lot of people complain about spilling water on the water deposit of kitchen aid. And the only bad reviews about Russell Hobbs was that it turns off 40 minutes after brewing something that I don't care more than that your coffee will be burnt, so for me its ok. Also the size of this machine it's pretty tall something that for me doesn't matter either. It makes a really good coffee and really fast, its also easy to use and it just looks good. All shiny parts are made of stainless steel, so far so good i have been using this machine daily since 2 months ago. I definitely recommend this product.

Love My Russell Hobbs Coffeemaker
I had never heard of this brand before I made my purchase, but I couldn't be happier with it. Not only is it a pretty coffee maker, but it works great! I will need a new toaster soon, and you guessed it, I'm ordering a Russell Hobbs toaster. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
