I’ve only had this one day, so I can’t speak to longevity. I have a Herman Miller Aeron chair that had a bad cylinder (piston shot through bottom and no ability for chair to stay raised). I took a gamble on this one since I didn’t specifically see anyone mentioning using on an Aeron classic I was hesitant, but this was a great price with good reviews and it would get to me overnight unlike other options. Once you get the existing cylinder out, installation is easy peasy.I did not know and was surprised to see this included basic gloves and a cylinder removal tool. I had already used a pipe wrench - with a 4 foot pipe over the end to get max torque to get the other one off (it was not coming off until I added the pipe extension), so I didn’t try the included removal tool.IMPORTANT: this cylinder does NOT have a plastic cover over the end. The orange end stays on the cylinder for installation. Do not try to remove it or you will damage the cylinder. That is an inaccuracy in the instructions. It looks like some might have a clear cover, but mine had no cover. The QR code on instructions is a dead end, luckily there are ok videos on this product page.In my case I had to adjust a set screw with an Allen wrench after installation for the chair to work properly (lots of demos on you tube). This is not necessary for most chairs.

So far so good. I just ordered a new chair, and wanted something that would help the chair regardless of who sat in it, since this is for a recording studio I am setting up in an unused bedroom of my house.I wish the instructions had explained the cylinder bracket that came with it - but the video on the amazon page here at least showed it was for helping to remove the old cylinder from the bottom of the old chair... Fortunately for me it was a new chair and this and different wheels all arrived together for me to assemble it for the first time.It works, fit fine, and goes up and down without issue. Unable to really test the higher weight at this time but I have no doubt it will work for anyone who may come through here. Only question is the longevity. Time will tell.

Bought this as an economical option to fix my office chair that had stopped holding its lift. Missing metal coupling in the package (there was only 1 and there should be 2) made the process horrible. Thank goodness installing a lift is simpler than removing one. Would not recommend this retailer's lift, go with another lift from someone else.

This slid right in as a replacement to my chair I got from staples. I dealt with a blown hydraulic cylinder for the last year and a half. Finally got tired of it but am not at the point where i'm ready for a new chair. This cylinder fit perfect, took less than 10 minutes to remove the old one and replace with this, and It's been working great for the last few months of use.

I didn’t like that the parts were free floating in the box it came in and there was only one glove instead of two. It made me think that it was a previous return.Other than that, the quality seems to be well made and so far, it has been doing the job. I was having problems with my chair staying up and I didn’t want to buy a new office chair, so this was a great replacement option.The QR code that was supposed to show a video of instructions didn’t work, but I found other instructions online for removing the old place and putting the new one in.

No more leak down. Replaced the cylinder and it was a direct fit. The top was a SOB to get out but the split collar tool that came with it helped allot. Would buy again.
